NTTU appeared for the first time in the 2024 World University Rankings for Sustainability.

NTTU – Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based education organization, has recently released its list of the world’s most sustainable universities for 2024. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is the only private university in the southern region of Vietnam to be included in this ranking.

In 2024, the World University Rankings for Sustainability saw the participation of 1397 educational institutions worldwide, including 473 from Asia and 8 from Vietnam. Nguyen Tat Thanh University was ranked 1201+ globally and 8th in Vietnam. This marks the first time Nguyen Tat Thanh University has appeared in the World University Rankings for Sustainability in 2024.

QS has utilized a methodology that includes indices designed to measure an institution’s capability in addressing the world’s most significant Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges, with 11 criteria.

Specifically, Nguyen Tat Thanh University achieved 63.9% in the Environmental Research criterion, 63.3% in the Knowledge Exchange criterion, 52.3% in the Health & Wellbeing criterion, 42.7% in the Employability & Opportunities criterion, 40.3% in the Social Impact criterion, 31.9% in the Equality criterion, 26.3% in the Environmental Impact criterion, 19.3% in the Governance criterion, 17.2% in the Impact of Education criterion, 13.6% in the Environmental Education criterion, and 7.3% in the Environmental Sustainability criterion.

In the development strategy of Nguyen Tat Thanh University for the 2020-2025 period and the vision towards 2035, the university is orienting towards a model of innovation, internationalization strategy, and quality as the core foundation for sustainable development. Previously, in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, Nguyen Tat Thanh University was ranked for the first time in the QS Asia Rankings with impressive positions of 291-300 in Asia, 60th in the South-East Region, and top 5 in Vietnam. Moreover, in the latest QS Stars re-evaluation, the university maintained its 4-star rating overall with 4 out of 8 criteria achieving a 5-star rating: Employability, Facilities, Academic Development, and Inclusiveness.
