NTTU participated for the first time in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023

NTTU – Recently, Shanghai Ranking announced the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2023, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University participated for the first time in the two fields of Engineering and Medicine. 

This year’s rankings included rankings of universities in 55 subjects in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences and Social Sciences with more than 1,900/5,000 universities in 104 countries and regions. In Vietnam, there were 11 ranked universities, of which Nguyen Tat Thanh University was the only non-public university in the Southern region presented in this ranking.

Preventive Medicine and Natural Resources & Environmental Management of Nguyen Tat Thanh University joined the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023

The ranking criteria used by GRAS are based on third-party data academic indicators to measure the performance of the world’s universities in their respective fields, including research output ( Q1), research influence (CNCl), international cooperation (IC), research quality (Top) and international academic awards (Award).

Specifically, in the field of Medicine, the Preventive Medicine major of Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranked 101 – 105 on the world rankings and ranked 3rd in Vietnam. In particular, Q1 criterion reached 13.9 points, CNC1 reached 100 points, IC reached 97.7 points and TOP criterion reached 8.9 points.

In the field of Engineering, Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s Natural Resources and Environmental Management major was ranked 301 – 400 in the world and ranked 2nd in Vietnam. The criteria Q1, CNC1, IC and TOP were 19.6 – 85.9 – 97.1 – 6.0 respectively.

ShanghaiRanking is conducted by Shanghai Jiaotong University (China) to evaluate the quality of universities around the world. By introducing innovative methodology, the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) was published for the first time in 2017. As of April 2023, 1447 professors participated in the survey. They came from 122 universities and 21 countries/regions, covering 64 subjects. The results showed 121 top journals in 43 topics, 36 top awards in 29 topics, and 31 top conferences in Computer Science & Engineering.
