Nguyen Tat Thanh University completes the external assessment at institutional level, cycle 2

 

On May 11, 2022, the official end of the external assessment at Nguyen Tat Thanh University was held at campus 331 National Highway 1A, An Phu Dong Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.

From May 6 to May 11, 2022, the external assessment was conducted. The assessment team carried out extensive research on supporting documents, inspected the facilities at the units, interviewed and spoke with seven groups of people about pertinent topics from within the school, worked directly with officials in charge of professional work at functional units, and gathered feedback from individuals.

At the closing session, during the presentation of the preliminary report on the results of the official assessment, the representatives of the assessment team made findings, comments, and comparisons on the educational institution’s strengths and areas for improvement in order to assist the school in continuing to improve quality, protect the interests of students, and meet the needs of employers and other stakeholders.

Dr. Tran Ai Cam, the University’s President, said that the institution always places a premium on assessment, seeing it as the foundation for continuous improvement and perfection. She was also very appreciative of the assessment team’s comments regarding the identification of the university’s strengths, particularly the recommendations to assist the university in identifying and developing the characteristics for the educational institution, thereby enhancing the quality of excellent teaching and learning.

At the conclusion ceremony, Dr. Tran Dinh Quang, Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, Vinh University, thanked Nguyen Tat Thanh University for actively assisting the team in completing the task during the last few days of the official assessment. Dr. Tran Dinh Quang hoped that, as a result of the delegation’s findings and suggestions, the university would continue to promote its strengths and overcome its weaknesses so that it would continue to grow

Prior to the end of the session, the leaders of the University and the representatives of the external assessment team signed the official assessment’s completion report, bringing to a close six working days of objectivity, efficiency, professionalism, and transparency.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University is one of the few institutions that administer the second institutional assessment. According to Decision No. 65/2007/QD-BGDT, a set of standards including 10 standards and 61 criteria, the University received its first quality certification for an educational institution in May 2017. By 2019, the school stated that virtually all of the assessment team’s suggestions had been implemented. In addition, the University has conducted quality improvement in accordance with Circular 12/2017, which includes 25 standards and 111 criteria used to standardize school activities. The self-assessment procedure was conducted in between January 2021 in preparation for the official assessment team within May 6–11, 2022.
