The Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) has selected NTTU as the representative office for the Southern region

NTTU – On the afternoon of August 24th, at the High-Tech Development Center of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) launched its representative office in the Southern region. Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University was appointed as the Head of the representative office.

Attending the launch ceremony were esteemed guests including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuoc – President of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – President of Can Tho University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Loc – Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

From the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE), there were: Prof. Dr. Bành Tiến Long – President of the Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh – Standing Vice President of the Association; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan – Vice President of the Association; Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Chien – Vice President of the Association; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Van Hieu – Head of the Office of the Association.

From Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were: Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan – Chairwoman of the School Council, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of the University; Dr. Nguyen Van Luong – Vice Chairman of the School Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong – Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Vice President, along with many esteemed deputy heads of departments, faculties, and centers.

In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan – Chairwoman of the School Council of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, congratulated VASE on the successful establishment of its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. She expressed hope that the collaboration between the two entities would further enhance the research capacity and scientific publications for the faculty of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, as well as increase the university’s reputation and brand in the field of science, technology, and innovation.

Mrs. Nguyen Mai Lan, Chairwoman of the School Council, delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony of VASE’s Southern representative office.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) announced the decisions to establish its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City and the decision to allow VASE to establish this office by the City People’s Committee. They also announced the appointment of personnel at the representative office. Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, was appointed as the Head of the VASE representative office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Standing Vice President of VASE, read out the decisions regarding the establishment of the representative office and the appointment of personnel.

The southern representative office of VASE will be located at the High-Tech Development Center of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park).

Dr. Tran Ai Cam, President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, has been appointed as the Head of the VASE Southern Representative Office.

Sending congratulations to Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Prof. Dr. Bành Tiến Long – President of VASE, stated that Ho Chi Minh City is home to many universities and colleges known for scientific research. It is also the economic center of the country, with potential in science and technology, and abundant human and material resources for socio-economic and intellectual development. These favorable conditions make Ho Chi Minh City an ideal location for VASE to establish its representative office. Prof. Long emphasized that the establishment of the VASE representative office in Ho Chi Minh City will further promote scientific and technological activities, innovation, especially in the development of high technology in the Southern region.

Professor Dr. Bành Tiến Long expressed great joy that the VASE representative office is located at a university and city named after President Ho Chi Minh.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Tran Ai Cam, President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Head of the VASE Research and Editing Office in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his gratitude to the VASE Standing Committee for entrusting this important responsibility to Nguyen Tat Thanh University. In his new role, Dr. Cam stated that he would continue to gather and enhance the collective capacity to implement action programs effectively, realistically, and develop scientific and technological activities, innovation, and high technology in the Southern region.

Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of NTTU, Head of VASE Southern Representative Office, provides additional information about the office’s upcoming activities.

At the same time, Dr. Cam also provided additional information about the new activities of the VASE Representative Office in HCMC, focusing on 5 key areas: (1) Expanding and admitting new members; (2) Organizing training programs to enhance knowledge and professional expertise; (3) Hosting scientific conferences and workshops to share experiences; (4) Collaborating with international scientific and technological organizations; (5) Expanding relationships and cooperation with organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally.

As part of the launch event, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in training, research, and technology transfer between the two entities. This memorandum will promote scientific research activities, technology transfer, and the sharing of experiences in publishing scientific papers in reputable journals.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) on the principles of cooperation in training, research, and technology transfer.

During this occasion, the Vietnam Association for Science and Technology Editors (VASE) admitted new members from three research groups: (1) The Applied Research Group in Control Engineering and Automation – Headed by Dr. Tran Quang Huy; (2) The Applied Research Group in Mechanical Engineering Technology – Headed by Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho; (3) The Applied Research Group in Automation Technology and Artificial Intelligence – Headed by Dr. Tran Viet Thang.

The VASE Southern Representative Office has issued decisions to admit new members.

Throughout its 24 years of formation and development, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has always been committed to investing significantly in scientific research. The university has a clear understanding of the mission of education, which is to continuously improve the quality of training. This includes narrowing the gap between theoretical training and practical requirements, as well as creating conditions to promote the transfer and application of new scientific and technological advancements in daily life. These efforts and activities of the faculty and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University have yielded impressive results, such as being in the top 20 universities in terms of research index among more than 30 institutions nationwide according to UPM’s publication, and ranking in the top 5 of Vietnam’s highest-impact scientific journals in 2020.

The Vietnam Association for Science Editors and Publishers was established by Decision No. 602/QD-BNV dated April 6, 2016. Through its professional activities, the Association aims to promote and enhance the quality of journals, research reports, and scientific publications, assist scientists in networking and publishing their scientific and technological works, and contribute to the promotion of research, application, and development of science and technology to serve the industrialization and modernization of the country. It also aims to deepen the professional cooperation between Vietnam and other countries worldwide.

At its second congress for the 2022-2027 term, the Vietnam Association for Science Editors and Publishers outlined its continued mission to enhance the intellectual capacity of the scientific and technological intellectual workforce in Vietnam, both domestically and internationally.
