Nguyen Tat Thanh University launches the 2023 OER Open Educational Resources competition

NTTU – Recently, Nguyen Tat Thanh University coordinated with the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges to launch the OER Open Educational Resources Research competition for Nguyen Tat Thanh University students in 2023

Attending the program were: Mr. Le Trung Nghia – Deputy Director of the Institute for Research, Training and Development of Open Educational Resources, Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges; Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University; MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao – Secretary of the School Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Information Department of the Student Affairs Department; MSc. Truong Quang Tri – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department and teachers representing a number of faculties, departments, units and especially the presence of nearly 300 students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Ai Cam said that Nguyen Tat Thanh University is one of the pioneering higher education institutions responding to UNESCO’s Open Educational Resources week from November 7 – 22, 2023. According to Dr. Cam, this was an opportunity to help students understand the benefits that Open Education Resources bring in learning and research, and at the same time discover open knowledge treasures to develop themselves in the future, towards lifelong learning skills.

The 2023 OER Open Educational Resources Research Competition for Nguyen Tat Thanh University students officially begins

The 2023 OER Open Educational Resources Research Competition for students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University took place from November 8, 2023 to November 15, 2023. Each individual participating in the contest logged into the website https://myaloha.vn to register a personal account (Required information declaration includes: Full name; Student ID; date of birth; faculty; class; phone number) and took a multiple-choice test consisting of 10 questions in 1 minute. The results of the contest will be announced on the NTTU fanpage – Student Affairs Department.

According to MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, after the end of the contest, the organizing committee will select 10 contestants with the highest scores and fastest time to award prizes. It is expected that the award ceremony will take place on November 16, 2023 at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

The contest attracts the participation of a large number of students from 52 training programs at the University

Open Educational Resources (OER) is “teaching, learning and research materials in any medium, whether digital or not, that are in the public domain or have been released under a license allowing others to access, use, adapt and redistribute without fee, without restriction or with limited restrictions. In Vietnam, the Program to build a model of open educational resources in higher education for the period 2023 – 2026 and towards 2030 was approved by the Prime Minister with the goal of building a model of development and sharing, exploiting and using open educational resources in higher education, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of research, teaching and learning activities, meeting the needs of learners to receive degrees and the need for lifelong learning.
