Nearly 1000 units of packed blood on the Red Volunteer Day at Nguyen Tat Thanh University

On November 22 and 23, 2022, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center have co-hosted the first Red Volunteer Day for the academic year of 2022-2023 at the main campus of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (District 4).

This is an annual activity of Nguyen Tat Thanh University with the spirit of loving everybody as loving yourself. The blood donation day has attracted the participation of hundreds of staff, lecturers, and students with nearly 1,000 blood units donated.

Coming so early for registration, screening, and rapid tests before donating blood, Huynh Phuong Di – the first-year student of Faculty of Pharmacy excitedly shared that she felt a little nervous for her first time of blood donation, but then she was more reassured by the medical team. “This is a meaningful activity and I hope blood of mine and other donors shall save many people in need”, said she.

Such meaningful activities shall raise awareness of students on their responsibilities with life and other people’s circumstances, devoting their youth to the community and society.”

For many years, being associated with the mission of high quality human resources training, Nguyen Tat Thanh University always focuses on its responsibility to the community such as participating in the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic, blood donation, free medicine for poor patients, etc. This is a solid evidence that students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University are equipped not only to become doctors, pharmacists, engineers with high qualification but also have ethics and responsibility to the community.

It is expected that the second blood donation day shall take place in December at the campus of Nguyen Tat Thanh University at District 12.
