Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering celebrates World Environment Day with the “Beat Plastic Pollution” contest

To celebrate the World Environment Day (05/06/2023) and promote social responsibilities in protecting nature and environment of NTTU lecturers and students, the Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering organized a series of events including a poster design competition named “Beat Plastic Pollution – Reuse plastic waste as plant pots”

From the Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering, Prof. Dr. Vu Quang Manh – Dean, along with all lecturers, staff and students participated in the event. In addition, Mr. Huynh Tan Dat – Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment was also invited to join the event.

26 poster designs participating in the contest, designed by students and alumni. After rounds of evaluation, the judges awarded 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize and 04 consolation prizes.

The Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment organized a waste collection day of used plastic bottles and tires to create flower pots and tree planters.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Vu Quang Manh said that “The Faculty of Food and Environmental Engineering always focuses on social activities and community service to  raise awareness of protecting the natural environment and social responsibility for all lecturers and students in line with the mission of training high quality human resources for national development and international integration”.
