40 projects enter semi-finals of the contest “Students with startup ideas in 2022”

NTTU – In order to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and scientific research for students, linking ideas with practical life and work in the field of training, on July 29, 2022, at the Student Culture House in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the contest “Students with startup ideas in 2022” was co-organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the Student Cultural House in Ho Chi Minh City, with the companion of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, the National Innovation Startup Advisory Council, the Southern National Startup Advisory Council. After many competitive rounds, the contest “Students with startup ideas 2022” is officially coming to the final rounds.

Cum member of the Southern Startup Advisory and Support Council.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University had the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Long Giang – Director of Innovation and Incubation Center cum Manager of Science and Technology Department; Huynh Hong Mai, MSc. – Deputy Director of Innovation and Incubation Center; together with lecturers and students conducting 40 projects of the contest “Students with startup ideas in 2022”.

The semi-final round attracted many participants

After one month from May to the end of June 2022, the contest received 55 projects with many creative and interesting ideas, and 40 of those 55 projects were selected by the jury to enter the semi-final round, coming from 22 universities and colleges across the country including Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, RMIT University, Hanoi Open University, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, University of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Economics and Law, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Natural Sciences, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Van Hien University, University of Finance – Marketing, Cao Thang Technical College, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry.

The Organizing Committee and the Jury worked so hard to select the best teams

Before entering the semi-final round, more than 150 students from many teams have been trained on how to write startup project descriptions, plan and develop business models. This year, the contest has received many projects with unique and innovative ideas that are highly appreciated by the jury for the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of contestants.

Speaking at the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University sent her sincere thanks to organizations who have supported and contributed to educate and train the young generation of NTTU over the years, contributing to build an innovative startup ecosystem for students. Prof. Hong also congratulated 40 projects that successfully enter the upcoming final round under the guidance of mentors to be able to run a real business with innovation, vision and direction for further development.

In particular, at the semi-finals, there were display activities with many unique ideas. In this round, the top 40 projects presented their project and answers questions from the Jury. Projects listed in the top 5 will be supported by Nguyen Tat Thanh University to participate in networking events to call for investment capital during the 2022 Startup and Innovation week, as well as have the opportunity to compete at the ministerial, regional, or national levels.

It could be seen that Nguyen Tat Thanh University brings great values ​​​​for potential technology projects, incubates new technology ideas that are in the process of learning and experiencing more to make dreams of entrepreneurship and innovation of students come true.
