Taekwondo team of Nguyen Tat Thanh University won 4 medals and set 2 new records

NTTU – At the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Student Taekwondo Open Tournament in 2023, the Nguyen Tat Thanh University team excellently brought home 4 medals and established 2 new records

Taking place over two days October 28 – 29, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Open Student Taekwondo Tournament, 2023, was organized by the City University and Professional Sports Association in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Taekwondo Federation. HCM organized, attracting more than 400 athletes to participate. Participating in the competition, the Taekwondo team of Nguyen Tat Thanh University had 14 athletes competing under the guidance of Head Coach – Teacher Nguyen Van Ka and Deputy Coach Huynh Minh Sang.

Overcoming hundreds of contestants, the Nguyen Tat Thanh University team excellently brought home 4 medals including 2 Gold medals and 2 Bronze medals. As follows:

• • 01 Gold Medal in High Flying Kick content: Tran Ngoc Bao
  • 01 Gold Medal in Long Kick Flying: Tran Ngoc Bao
  • 01 Bronze Medal in Standard Rights content for object 1: group of Tran Ngoc Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngoc, Lu Huu Thinh, Truong Cong Thanh and Sithakham Phommachan.
  • 01 Bronze Medal in Men’s and Women’s Team Fighting content for 4 athletes (professional division): group of Nguyen Dang Khoa, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Nguyen Thanh Thuy and Doan Thanh Tuong Vi.

At the same time, Tran Ngoc Bao also set two records in the content of Flying Kicks 2m5 high and Flying Kicks 3m7 long.

Sharing his feelings about the prize achieved at the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Student Taekwondo Open, marketing student Tran Ngoc Bao happily said that before each match, psychology is something that every athlete considers. It was difficult to stabilize, and in these situations, Bao always used warming up methods to help his mind become more stable. With the achievement of 2 Gold medals and his name entering new records in 2 contents, that’s why the award not only has a special meaning for himself but also the collective pride of the whole team.
