Students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University apply AI technology into Hue tourism introduction application

NTTU – The project of Applying AI to the smart tourism proposal website in Hue (GoVie) conducted by a group of students majoring in Information Technology from Nguyen Tat Thanh University has just won the third prize of Hue-ICT Challenge – 2023.

The project of Applying AI to the smart tourism proposal website in Hue (GoVie) was conducted by a group of students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University including Vo Nhat Huy, Le Tuan Kiet, Dang Duy Duc, Nguyen Hoang Vuong, and Mai Phu Hung, directed by Dang Nhu Phu – Lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology.

GoVie is a travel information webiste, providing information on sights, attractions, ticket prices and other tourist activities. The website will suggest tourist destinations based on the user’s personal preferences through the machine system, thereby automatically creating a suitable schedule based on the distance between the places and the average visit time. In addition, GoVie also supports CHATBOT AI to help users use and choose the right destination more easily.

According to Vo Nhat Huy – Team leader of the project, in the current market, there are diversification of information sources for a tourist destination, finding information and creating a schedule for tourists’ trips is still difficult and take time. Therefore, GoVie was created to solve this problem, helping users easily find information and plan travel.

The highlight that the GoVie application brings to users is the use of machine learning technology to understand and analyze the user’s personal preferences, thereby recommending suitable tourist destinations. This helps users save time and find tourist destinations that match their own preferences. In particular, the product takes advantage of the official open data source of Thua Thien Hue province, contributing to promoting tourism to travel enthusiasts.

Commenting on the feasibility as well as the quality of the topic, MSc. Dang Nhu Phu – Lecturer leading the assessment, GoVie is an application with new elements, capable of putting into practice the tourism promotion of Thua Thien Hue province. In particular, this application also shows the operational support parts of the website that users cannot see (backend) in the travel recommendations for visitors.

Sharing about product development orientation, student Vo Nhat Huy said that in the coming time, the group will continue to invest in research and development of GoVie applications, upgrade features, enhance performance and improve experience for users. At the same time, develop marketing strategies, cooperate with travel partners and create advertising campaigns to expand markets and reach customers. Huy believes to create interactions with large applications to take advantage of social networks and build a community of users who are interested in travel and share information and travel experiences.
