Students from NTTU engage in international academic exchange in the field of Automotive Engineering Technology
At Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU), international academic and cultural exchange programs are considered a “privilege” for NTTU students. Through these programs, students have the opportunity to improve their language skills and learn more about the culture, life, and learning environment of their international peers.
Mr. Durant Philippe, representing the delegation of faculty and students from La Croix Rouge University (France), delivered the opening speech at the seminar.
On February 22, 2024, students and faculty from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Nguyen Tat Thanh University had the opportunity to expand their international academic and sports exchanges, as well as to deeply discuss scientific research in the field of Automotive Engineering Technology with La Croix Rouge University (France). This event was held at Van Lang University.
In this scientific seminar and exchange program, NTTU was represented by Dr. Duong Hoang Long – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Tran Quang Huy – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; along with lecturers and representatives from student research groups.
The seminar focused on discussing and presenting research findings on 03 main topics:
_ Application of wifi in autonomous vehicle systems (Van Lang University)
_ Vehicle positioning through Lorawan software (La Croix Rouge University)
_ Research on developing self-driving features for model cars (Nguyen Tat Thanh University)
Representatives of experts from NTTU supported students from both countries in answering questions regarding the field of study, development trends, and research directions in the field.
It is known that, in the exchange with the partner country, a group of students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, including Huynh Thuan Phat, Huynh Hoang Hung, Ly Dinh Tu, and Bui Thanh Nhan, shared about the process of researching and developing self-driving features for model cars. Specifically, the research group from NTTU presented and analyzed in detail the content of the report on modern technologies related to self-driving and lane-keeping, including sensors, control systems, and software; Developing algorithms to keep the position of the model car in the lane, including processing signals from sensors and setting up automatic control. The group also introduced the process of researching and analyzing modern technologies related to automatic braking in emergency situations, including sensors, brakes, and control software; Developing specialized algorithms to activate and control automatic braking features to ensure safety and testing algorithms on a real car model.
Next, in the sharing roundtable session, experts from Nguyen Tat Thanh University, La Croix Rouge University, and Van Lang University supported students from both countries in addressing questions regarding the field of study, development trends, and research directions in the field.
_ Dr. Claude Vo – Lecturer at La Croix Rouge University
_ Associate Professor Dr. Le Huu Son – Head of the Automotive Engineering Department at Van Lang University
_ Mr. Durant Philippe – Lecturer at La Croix Rouge University
_ Dr. Tran Quang Huy – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Nguyen Tat Thanh University
Representatives of the student group from Nguyen Tat Thanh University shared their research process in developing autonomous driving features for model cars.
Additionally, after intense scientific research discussions, the student delegation from La Croix Rouge University (France) visited the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and played a friendly football match with students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Van Lang University.
At NTTU, students are always provided with opportunities to participate in academic exchanges with professors and students from many countries to create a rich and high-quality international learning environment. It is hoped that after the scientific seminar and exchange with professors and students from La Croix Rouge University (France), NTTU students will gain valuable experiences in academics, culture, and language, enhancing their ability to integrate internationally. From there, they will have more motivation to excel in their fields of study and pursue their future careers.
