Scientific conference on diversifying solutions to promote social innovation activities

Recently, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) in cooperation with the Center of Science and Technology Development for Youth; The Department of Science and Technology of Thu Duc City organized the scientific conference on “Diversifying solutions to promote social innovation activities”. The conference attracted more than 200 delegates of scientists, experts in the field of public administration, entrepreneurship and innovation, policy making, etc. Lecturers, graduate students, undergraduate students, youth union members and delegates from related municipal departments also participated in the conference.

The conference received 45 papers from 60 authors, groups of authors, members from more than 20 institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and Thu Duc City including Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy, Research Institute for Circular Economy Development – VNU-HCM, VNU-HCM Software Technology Park, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-HCM, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Van Hien University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, Thu Duc Youth Union, Pham Van Chinh Primary School.

The conference program consists of Plenary session and Symposium sessions. The plenary session welcomed the following speakers with their papers: (1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Loc – Director, Social Life Research Institute, author of “Creative urban areas in the city’s eastern region to build a human lives-oriented urban model”; (2) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – President of the Vietnam – Southeast Asia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, author of “Solutions to diversify social innovation activities – Lessons from ASEAN countries”; (3) Mr. Tran Duc Su – Deputy Director of the Center of Science and Technology Development for Youth, author of “Developing innovative and entrepreneurial activities for teenagers and children – Practices in Ho Chi Minh City”.

After the conference, the excellent and high quality research papers will be awarded with 01 first prize, 01 second prize, 01 third prize and 06 consolation prizes for 9 authors and groups of authors. Participating papers will be selected for peer-review by the Scientific Council and then edited by the Organizing Committee before publishing the conference proceedings. The scientific conference “Diversifying solutions to promote social innovation activities” is one of the meaningful activities in proposing policies to develop the social innovation movement, as well as providing directions for Thu Duc city to evolve as a smart and creative city.
