NTTU to Host BRAINCON 2027 – International AI Conference on Frugal, Sovereign, and Societal Scale AI

NTTU – Nguyen Tat Thanh University is proud to announce that it will host BRAINCON 2027, the flagship international conference of the Bharat Research in AI and NextGen Foundation (BRAIN), from 22–24 January 2027 on the NTTU Hi-Tech Park campus. This landmark event will bring together leading academics, researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and students from around the world to explore the theme “Frugal, Sovereign, Societal Scale AI and Agentic AI.” BRAINCON 2027 aims to spotlight two defining imperatives of the next wave of artificial intelligence: the rise of autonomous, collaborative agentic systems, and the pursuit of resource-efficient, inclusive, and sustainable AI innovation.

About BRAINCON 2027

BRAINCON has established itself as a premier global platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing cutting-edge research, and shaping the responsible evolution of AI. The 2027 edition will feature:

• Keynote sessions from renowned AI researchers and industry leaders
• Technical paper presentations across six major research tracks
• Workshops and hands-on demonstrations
• Hackathons for students and young researchers
• Extensive networking opportunities across academia, industry, government, and civil society

As host institution, NTTU is honored to welcome the global AI research community to Ho Chi Minh City and to contribute to meaningful discussions that will help define the future of AI – one that is not only intelligent and autonomous, but also frugal, inclusive, and equitable.

Conference Tracks

BRAINCON 2027 welcomes submissions across six thematic tracks:
1. Foundations of Frugal and Efficient AI — data-efficient learning, model optimization, efficient architectures, and AI for low-resource scenarios
2. AI Sovereignty: Policy, Governance, and Security — national AI strategies, data governance, privacy-preserving ML, and cybersecurity for AI infrastructure
3. AI for Societal Impact: Verticals and Deployment — healthcare, agriculture, climate, public services, and NLP for low-resource languages
4. Human-Centered and Ethical AI — explainability, fairness, participatory AI, and the future of work
5. Infrastructure for Decentralized and Edge AI — edge AI, frugal hardware, federated learning, and decentralized data architectures
6. NextGen AI for Cybersecurity and Threat Detection — network security, AI-powered cybersecurity, and AI/quantum applications
Publication Opportunities

Accepted papers will have the opportunity to be published through several prestigious Springer channels, including the Studies in Computational Intelligence (SCI) series, Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS), and a themed topical issue of the SN Computer Science journal on “Frugal, Sovereign, and Human-Centered AI.” Selected papers may also be featured in Transactions in AI and NextGen (TRAIN).
