Representatives from Nguyen Tat Thanh University welcomed the working delegation, including Mr. Le Quang Khanh – Head of the International Cooperation Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Truong Vu – Head of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and other faculty members from the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Established in 1947, Kunsan National University is located in Gunsan City, South Korea. Similar to NTTU, KSNU offers a wide range of disciplines that attract students from both within and outside South Korea, including Vietnam, Mongolia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Notable fields at KSNU include those related to Health Sciences, Wind Energy, Civil Engineering, and Maritime Engineering. Particularly in Civil Engineering, areas such as construction materials, sustainable and environmentally friendly materials, and structural engineering are topics of mutual interest between the two institutions.
Professor Dr. Dae Wook Park personally presented the scholarship to Nguyen Son Hai Ngoc Chau, a student from the K20 class of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, who is currently working on his graduation thesis.
With its extensive experience in education, graduates from Kunsan National University are currently working in various fields around the world. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ho Minh Tri, Deputy Head of the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, has also been trained at Kunsan National University, obtaining his Master’s and Doctorate degrees, and later his Post-Doctorate. Currently, Dr. Tri is bridging the cooperation between the two institutions in scientific research, student exchange programs, and other collaborations. Recognizing the capabilities of Vietnamese students, Kunsan National University hopes to attract more Vietnamese students to study in their academic environment.
During this visit, Kunsan National University awarded a full scholarship worth 200 million VND for Nguyen Son Hai Ngoc Chau, a student from the K20 class of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Awarding a Master’s scholarship to a student who has not yet graduated from university is rare, but Chau’s impressive academic performance, self-learning ability, passion for scientific research, and especially his dedication to improving his English language skills while still in university have made him a standout candidate.
The friendly meeting has opened up opportunities for collaboration in scientific research and provided opportunities for students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering to experience higher education at Kunsan National University. KSNU’s visit and the scholarship awarded to students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering represent a new highlight in the internationalization efforts of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and, more broadly, Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
