NTTU Students conquer the Bach Khoa Youth Innovation & Creativity Contest

NTTU – On March 27, 2021, the final round of the Bach Khoa Youth Creativity Contest 2020 was taken place in Ha Noi, in which the research topic conducted by a group of students in Environmental Resources Management of Nguyen Tat Thanh University excellently reached the top 10 best teams and won the third prize.

The Contest is annually organized by Ha Noi University of Science and Technology to encourage students’ creativity and multidisciplinary thinking skills to create practical ideas and products, innovative management solutions which are potential for startups. With the slogan “Smart up for life”, the contest aims to create products potential for startups serving life such as transportation, education, environmental protection, territorial waters and islands, industry, agriculture, and healthcare.

Passing three rounds of intense competition, the ATER raw algae powder project of student group from the Faculty of Environmental and Food Engineering including Le Thi Ngoc Chau, Huynh Do Dat, Tran Tan Dung instructed by MSc. Tran Thanh reached the top 10 best teams and finally won the third prize. With this result, Nguyen Tat Thanh University was the only non-public university from the South to conquer the Bach Khoa Youth Innovation & Creativity Contest 2020.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University student group reaches top 10 most execellent groups

The ATER raw algae powder project’s implementation is based on the fact that the quality of farmed shrimp does not meet the quality criteria, leading to a decrease in Vietnam’s shrimp exports, along with antibiotic residues in components of shrimp. Under the guidance of MSc. Tran Thanh, the ATER group including Le Thi Ngoc Chau, Huynh Do Dat, Tran Tan Dung wish to bring green solutions to the fisheries sector in Vietnam, help Vietnamese seafood to gain high quality and reach high-end markets. ATER not only aims at domestic supply but also has an ambition to accompany Vietnamese farmers to cover foreign markets with the Vietnamese seafood brand.

Previously, the ATER raw algae powder project had won the following awards: The 1st prize in the NTTU STARTUP OPENDAY 2019; the consolation prize in the SV STARTUP Contest 2018; the bronze medal in the Youth Design, Creativity and Application Contest 2019.
