Nguyen Tat Thanh University welcomes preliminary assessment team for two training programs

NTTU – On October 28, 2021, Nguyen Tat Thanh University welcomed external assessors of the Center for Education Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City to make a preliminary evaluation for two training programs including the Bachelor of Architecture and the Master of Information Technology.

Participating in the preliminary assessment, from the Center for Education Accreditation – VNU, HCMC, there were: Assoc. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Vice Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam – Specialist. From the external assessment team, there were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Team leader; Dr. Dinh Ai Linh – Secretary; Dr. Truong Chi Hien – Permanent member of the training program in Architecture; Dr. Huynh Kha Tu – Permanent member of the training program in Information Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Van Hoai – Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hanh Nga – Member.

Welcoming the evaluation team, there were representatives of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, including: Dr. Tran Ai Cam – the President; Dr. Nguyen Kim Quoc – Dean of Faculty of Information Technology; MSc. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy – Vice Dean of Faculty of Architecture – Construction – Applied Fine Arts; MSc. Nguyen Huu Dang Quang – Deputy Manager of Quality Assurance Department; together with lecturers, leaders of related faculties and departments.

At the meeting on October 28^th, the external assessment team of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCMC conducted the institutional level preliminary evaluation for the Bachelor of Architecture and the Master of Information Technology of Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Accordingly, the delegation checked the system of files, evidences and materials; visited a number of places such as working rooms, practice rooms and lecture halls; and interviewed a number of full-time staff in order to prepare for the next official evaluation. Then the team had a meeting and worked with leaders of the university and leaders of the related units on the results of self-assessment documents of two training programs. Besides, the two sides exchanged and agreed on working principles; made plans and objectives as well as completed and submitted necessary documents and evidences for the official evaluation taken place on November 9-12, 2021. Included in the preliminary evaluation, the external assessment team participated in the teaching observation of the training programs via the virtual training form of E-learning.

Evaluating the facilities of the university

The delegation highly appreciated the efforts of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in implementing self-assessment activities as well as preparing for external evaluation activities in the pandemic context with the commitment of objectivity, transparency, professionalism and quality. Since then, suggestions would be made to help the university to improve the quality of training, meet the needs of learners, and contribute to affirm the quality, prestige as well as position of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in the new period.
