Nguyen Tat Thanh University signs cooperative agreement with APEC Group regarding training human resources

In the morning of July 17 2020, at District 4 campus, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) held a MOU signing ceremony with APEC Group regarding collaboration in training aspect.

Attending the ceremony, representatives from APEC Group include Mr. Nguyen Do Lang – Chairman; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien – Director of Ho Chi Minh Branh. From NTTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Nguyen Thanh Phuong, MBA – Manager of Business Relations and Student Job Placement Department and other administrative staff, employees of APEC Group, together with more than 50 students participated in the ceremony.

At the ceremony, both sides discussed and agreed to sign a MOU between NTTU and APEC Group which combines agreements on many aspects including training, allocations of internships and job placements for students. In particular, the cooperative areas mentioned in the MOU focus on developing certain fields, such as Tourism, Hospitality, Real estates, Finance, Stock market, Environmental Management, Organic agriculture – High tech, Education, Manufacture and Trade, establishment of Happitopia Nguyen Tat Thanh and Club of CEO Millenium at NTTU; funding for other scholarship programs of NTTU and CEO Start-up competitions, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong representing the University Council and Board of Presidents sent a warm welcome to APEC Group. She shared that: “Positioning as a practical applied university, NTTU has invested tens of billions of VND for research activities. Our academic staff and students have played an important role in developing research activities in Vietnam. In 2019, NTTU was honored to be the only university in Vietnam recognized as a 4 Stars-university by QS Stars (UK), ranked fifth nationally regarding research published internationally on ISI indexed journals. At the beginning of 2020, NTTU is the only private university, located in Ho Chi Minh City, entered top 20 in research listed in Vietnam University Ranking UPM (University Performance Metrics). By these achievements, NTTU is affirming its position in Vietnamese and international network of universities.

Aparting from the cooperative agreement between the two parties, APEC Group also signed a funding agreement for NTTU Start-up 2020 competition. Particularly, APEC Group provides a funded scholarship of VND 40 million for NTTU Star-up 2020 competition. With this scholarship, young entrepreneurs will be able to gain confidence to fulfil their projects for real-world applications. Especially, NTTU students had a chance to hear Chairman Nguyen Do Lang’s talks about many realistic issues, such as self-positioning, meanings of studying, missions of Vietnamese students, etc.
