Nguyen Tat Thanh University organize Mid-Autumn Festival for 150 disadvantaged children in Vi Thanh city
NTTU – On September 24th, at Huong Sen Kindergarten, Hoa Luu commune, Vi Thanh city, the Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences of Nguyen Tat Thanh University organized the Mid-Autumn Festival and gave gifts to more than 150 disadvantaged children.
The local authorities attending the program comprise Mr. Le Hong Khue – Member of the Standing Committee of Vi Thanh City’s Party Committee, Head of the Publicity and Education Department of Vi Thanh City’s Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Deputy Secretary of Hoa Luu Commune Party Committee, Chairman of Hoa Luu Commune People’s Committee; Mr. Kim Trung Dung – Deputy Director of Vi Thanh City’s Political Center; Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Bang – Deputy Secretary of Vi Thanh City’s HCYU; Mr. Pham Che Linh – Permanent Deputy Secretary of Ward VII’s Party Committee; Ms. Le Thi Le Hang – Principal of Huong Sen Kindergarten.
The delegates from Nguyen Tat Thanh University consist of Assoc. Prof. Dr Dinh Van Phuc – Deputy Director of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, Dr. Vo Thi My and lecturers from NTTU’s Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.

With the motto “Lanterns light up dreams”, the Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences of Nguyen Tat Thanh University brought the Mid-Autumn Festival to more than 150 children in disadvantaged circumstances in Hoa Luu Commune, Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province. Many recreational activities were organized by the school such as lion dance, five-fruit tray display, lantern procession to welcome the moon, art performances, etc.

On this occasion Nguyen Tat Thanh University presented more than 100 gifts including moon cakes, pastries, and school supplies to children in disadvantaged circumstances to generate motivation in children and boost their confidence when the new school year started.
As a local representative, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Bang – Deputy Secretary of Vi Thanh City’s HCMYU sent her sincere thanks to NTTU’s Board of Presidents. Through the program, Ms. Bang said, Vi Thanh City and Nguyen Tat Thanh University hoped the children would have a meaningful, cozy Mid-Autumn Festival. With those gifts, the society, authorities, and sponsors expressed the love and affection for children. “This will improve children’s motivation in life, behaving properly, studying well, obeying their grandparents and parents to be Uncle Ho’s Obedient Children and contribute to their family and society”, said Ms. Bang.
Regarding the work with Hoa Luu Commune in Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Phuc – Deputy Director of NTTU’s Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences said that Hoa Luu was a heroic land with strong revolutionary traditions, where many ethnic minorities, of which 50% were poor households, lived. So, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hoped to bring children there a cozy and happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

Organizing a Mid-Autumn Festival for children in disadvantaged circumstances is one of the annual activities of Nguyen Tat Thanh University. This year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University will organize the Mid-Autumn Festival for more than 10,000 children in provinces like Dong Thap, Lam Dong, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang, Binh Phuoc, Long An, Hau Giang and Ho Chi Minh City with many activities such as lantern processions, performances, scholarship awards, etc. Through this project, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hopes that the children will enjoy a happy and friendly Mid-Autumn Festival, while providing children additional motivation for keeping up with their schoolwork.
