Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Top 10 Vietnamese universities by the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2023
The SCImago Institutions Rankings has just announced the results of the ranking of research and higher education institutions worldwide in 2023, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University excellently won the fourth place out of 29 universitiesin Vietnam.
Since the establishment in 2009, the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SCImago) has published its ranking of worldwide institutions once a year. SCImago consists of members from Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), University of Granada, Charles III University of Madrid, Alcalá de Henares and other education institutions in Spain, aiming for providing reliable information on national scientific research, research institutes, reliable levels of journals via indicators analyzed based on Scopus data.
In 2023, SCImago remains the ranking of research and higher education institutes in the world based on three criteria:
- Research performance(50%): evaluated by the volume, impact and quality of research from the institution.
- Innovation output(30%): evaluated by the number of patent applications and the citations of the institution received from those patents.
- Societal impact(20%): evaluated by the number of websites owned by the institution, the number of interaction as well as discussion on social platforms.
Amongst those criteria, Nguyen Tat Thanh University achieved:

Overall, Nguyen Tat Thanh University is ranked the fourth place out of 29 Vietnamese universities. Being ranked in the top Vietnamese universities in the internationally prestigious ranking organization as SCImago Institutions Rankings is really a great encouragement and motivation for Nguyen Tat Thanh University to continue its efforts to improve the quality of teaching and research, affirming its higher education position in the process of development and integration. NTTU is ready to conquer more achievements, with the desire to reach the international level.
