Nguyen Tat Thanh University Delegation Attends the 2026 Vietnam – New Zealand Higher Education and Skills Forum
AUCKLAND, New Zealand — On 13 August 2026 (local time), a delegation from Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU), led by Vice Presidents Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong and Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam, took part in the 2026 Vietnam – New Zealand Higher Education and Skills Forum, held at Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
A Forum for Building a Shared Future
The forum took place as part of the state visit to New Zealand by Party General Secretary and President To Lam, and brought together a high-level Vietnamese delegation alongside numerous leaders from government ministries and agencies, higher education and vocational institutions, and businesses from both countries. Held under the theme “Building a Shared Future: Talent, Innovation and Skills for Tomorrow,” the forum set out to connect educational institutions, research bodies and enterprises from Vietnam and New Zealand, helping them identify the right partners and turn cooperation opportunities into reality.
Focus on High-Quality Talent for Tomorrow’s Economy
At the forum, the NTTU delegation heard about key areas of cooperation between the two countries in education, with strong emphasis on developing high-quality human resources for the digital, green, circular and knowledge economies. Particular attention was given to fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, digital technology, cybersecurity, biotechnology, smart agriculture and renewable energy — directions that align closely with the training and research path NTTU is pursuing in its new phase of growth.

Connecting with New Zealand’s Education Sector
On the sidelines of the forum, NTTU representatives met with leaders and representatives from a number of New Zealand higher education and vocational institutions, opening up opportunities to identify new partners aligned with the University’s development direction in the years ahead.

Toward Deeper Cooperation
Speaking after the forum, a representative of the delegation said the University has always placed great importance on — and is eager to strengthen — its cooperation with New Zealand’s education institutions. Taking part in this year’s forum is a concrete step for NTTU to expand its international partner network, laying the groundwork for future collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, short-term training programs, and joint research with universities and educational organizations in New Zealand.
This forum adds to a growing string of international outreach and cooperation activities that NTTU has been actively pursuing in recent times, all aimed at improving training quality and broadening international learning and exchange opportunities for the University’s faculty and students.
