Nguyen Tat Thanh University breaks into top 291-300 on QS Asia 2024 Rankings for the first time
NTTU – On November 8, 2023, Quacquarelli Symonds, a UK-based education organization, announced the results of the best universities in the Asian region in 2024. This marks the first time Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) has been ranked in the QS Asia Rankings, securing an impressive position of 291-300 in Asia, 60th in the Southeast Region, and among the top 5 in Vietnam.
The 2024 rankings include 857 educational institutions in Asia, with 149 new participants. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is proud to be in the 5th position among the 15 Vietnamese institutions listed, including Duy Tan University, Ton Duc Thang University, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Hue University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HCMC University of Technology and Education, Danang University, Can Tho University, University of Transport and Communications, Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, and Hanoi University of Education.
Nguyen Tat Thanh University achieved this ranking based on outstanding criteria, including output indicators such as Citations per Paper, International Research Network, Faculty-Student Ratio, and outcome indicators like Employer Reputation and Academic Reputation.

As one of the prestigious university rankings, QS Asia ranks universities based on 11 criteria with different weights, including academic reputation (30%); employer reputation (20%); faculty-student ratio (10%); proportion of faculty with a Ph.D. (5%); ratio of papers published per lecturer (5%); citations per paper (10%); international research network (10%); international lecturers (2.5%); international students (2.5%); domestic exchange students (2.5%); international exchange students (2.5%), etc. These indicators are designed to reflect the top priorities in the educational and research activities of Asian universities.
The rankings will help high school students and parents grasp basic information about Vietnamese universities, enabling them to choose a suitable institution. This is also one of the evaluation tools that businesses and universities in and outside the country can use to select partnerships and collaborations.
