Nguyen Tat Thanh University attends the Week of Digital Transformation and Startup Innovation – Mekong Delta 2023 in Hau Giang province

NTTU – On the morning of May 18, the People’s Committee of Hau Giang province held the opening ceremony of the Week of Digital Transformation and Startup Innovation – Mekong Delta 2023 from May 18 to May 20 with the participation of 25 provinces and cities; attracted nearly 3,000 visitors with more than 60 leading experts and speakers on digital transformation, start-up innovation from central ministries and branches; state management agencies; trade associations and associations; organizations, corporations, enterprises in Hau Giang province, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities

9 seminars and 8 activities were organized to raise awareness, create opportunities for exchange and cooperation between state agencies and businesses providing digital transformation products and solutions, contribute to improving the efficiency of digital transformation and start-up innovation, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development of Hau Giang province in particular and of the region and the country in general. In addition, to promote and attract investment from technology enterprises into the Digital Technology Park of Hau Giang province; promote the connection of the innovation startup ecosystem, connecting the province’s ecosystem with the ecosystem of the region and the country.

The delegation of Nguyen Tat Thanh University included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Long Giang – Director of NIIC Innovation and Incubation Center; along with lecturers from Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Institute of Technology Applications for Sustainable Development, NIIC staff, experts and NTTU students from excellent start-up projects.

At the opening ceremony, Nguyen Tat Thanh University signed a cooperation agreement with the People’s Committee of Hau Giang Province for the period of 2023 – 2028 with the following contents: implementation of the Startup and Innovation Program; cooperation in scientific research and technology transfer; International cooperation; improving the quality of human resources in the health sector; career guidance, vocational training, job introduction and labor export.

Also within the framework of the event, Nguyen Tat Thanh University participated in the exhibition booth of NTTU students’ Start-up Innovation products such as: SOFa product sets applied in the circular agricultural system and Products application of black soldier flies in circular agriculture Fly Bio – Biotechnology industry; Essential oils, aromatic waxes, soaps, cosmetics and organic fertilizers are produced from the application of orange peels after taking water from Q-Green – Faculty of Pharmacy. Three projects won the second prize at the 5th contest “Students with Start-up Ideas” (SV_STARTUP) in 2023. In addition, the booth also exhibited Comtido Peppermint Tea – Faculty of Pharmacy has successfully transferred production technology with Life Gift VN Company; The Son Gac project incubated at NIIC has grown into a business household.

Lecturers and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University also attended seminars and activities in the fields of smart cities, agriculture, health, education, etc. such as: promoting digital transformation and economic development in the Mekong Delta in 2023; Digital Transformation solutions to promote digital government, public administration and smart cities; Promoting innovative start-ups; Connecting technology supply and demand and surveying the level of innovation readiness at enterprises; Digital Transformation solutions to improve management and teaching quality; Digital Transformation solutions to improve the quality of tourism services.

Contributing to the discussion session on implementation experience, practical lessons in supporting startups at the workshop on technology supply and demand connection , surveying the level of innovation readiness in enterprises, Ms. Huynh Hong Mai – Deputy Director of the NIIC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center shared that Nguyen Tat Thanh University is honored to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the People’s Committee of Hau Giang province to exploit potentials of resources and people, thereby developing innovative start-ups through linkages with local businesses and universities in the southern region.
