Nguyen Tat Thanh University attends the Vietnam – China Higher Education, Science – Technology and Innovation Cooperation Forum 2026
NTTU – On April 14, 2026, within the framework of the State visit to China by General Secretary and State President To Lam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Chinese Ministry of Education, organized the Vietnam – China Higher Education, Science – Technology and Innovation Cooperation Forum 2026 at Tsinghua University (China). The event attracted the participation of approximately 100 representatives from leading higher education institutions of both countries, including Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
The delegation of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong, Vice President, was honored to attend the policy speech by General Secretary and State President To Lam at Tsinghua University. In his address to a large audience of professors, lecturers, and students, the General Secretary and State President emphasized that Vietnam always considers developing relations with China as a strategic choice and a top priority. He affirmed the need to make science, technology, and innovation a “new pillar” in the bilateral relationship. Furthermore, he expressed his expectation for universities to enhance the exchange of students and scholars, and to establish joint research groups in key fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, green technology, and green agriculture.

At the main session of the Forum, Chinese Vice Minister of Education Ren Youqun and President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi Bui The Duy also delivered speeches, further highlighting practical aspects of higher education cooperation between the two nations.
Following the main session, delegates participated in four thematic sessions focusing on: Developing higher education cooperation to build a regional talent community between China and Vietnam; International cooperation in high-level human resource training and linking the China – Vietnam industrial chains; Environment and sustainable development; and Artificial intelligence and digital education: Enhancing technological capacity and governance cooperation.

The forum served as an invaluable opportunity for higher education institutions, research institutes, and enterprises of both countries to exchange, connect, and promote deeper cooperation in training high-quality human resources, conducting scientific research, and advancing technological development. These efforts significantly contribute to consolidating political trust and strengthening the Vietnam – China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Also within the framework of the forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong, representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University, met and held discussions with representatives of Tsinghua University.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s participation in the Vietnam – China Higher Education, Science – Technology and Innovation Cooperation Forum at Tsinghua University holds strategic significance for the University’s long-term development orientation. It provides a crucial platform for the University to connect directly with leading academic and technological partners in the region, particularly as global higher education shifts strongly towards internationalized and interdisciplinary models. Engaging in a high-level forum that brings together top universities, businesses, and policymakers enables Nguyen Tat Thanh University to stay abreast of new trends in training, research, and innovation.
Over the past years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been actively implementing numerous international cooperation activities with educational institutions in China. Currently, the University has undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students studying and conducting research at several partner universities. Moreover, the University annually organizes internship and practical experience programs in China for Chinese Language majors, aiming to enhance their professional capabilities and promote international integration.
