More than 200 patients examined and medicated free of charge

NTTU – Recently, assigned by the Board of Presidents, the Nursing Faculty of Nguyen Tat Thanh University cooperated with Binh Dan Hospital to organize medical examination and screening for abnormalities, provide free medicine and give gifts to more than 200 patients in Thanh Loi commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province. The delegation has 45 members, including the medical staff of Binh Dan Hospital, lecturers, youth union members and students of the Nursing Faculty of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

“Volunteer White Blouse” is a deeply meaningful social activity, promoting the spirit of volunteering for the health of the community. Through the program, many people in difficult circumstances have been helped and shared the cost of treatment. At the same time, the program has also brought positive effects, joining hands with the community to take care of people’s health, especially disadvantaged people in remote and rural areas and welcomes the enthusiastic support of the local people.

During this campaign, lecturers, youth union members and nursing students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University provided medical examination and treatment to 200 patients who are policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services, the poor, disabled children in Thanh Loi commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province. On this occasion, Nguyen Tat Thanh University presented 200 gifts including necessities, cash, other support for families and scholarships for students with difficult circumstances.

For students in the health sector, the free medical examination and medicine distribution activities are one of the opportunities to experience, apply the knowledge learned.

For many years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has constantly associated academic training with social responsibility, labelling social responsibility as an important part of sustainable development. Every year, the university regularly organizes charity activities to help people with difficult circumstances in provinces and cities across the country. In addition, Nguyen Tat Thanh University plays an active role as scholarship provider such as: Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Nguyen Thai Binh Scholarship, the 9/1 Traditional Camp program and other programs. In particular, during the peak period of the Covid-19 pandemic, hundreds of lecturers and students from the health sector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University volunteered to participate in the fight against the epidemic, making a significant contribution to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic of Vietnam. With these contributions to the society, Nguyen Tat Thanh University helps to build Ho Chi Minh City in particular, Vietnam in general a prosperous, beautiful and modern city and country.
