Faculty of Pharmacy prepares to welcome students back to school in new normal state

After more than 5 months of suspending face-to-face teaching and learning activities, the Faculty of Pharmacy – Nguyen Tat Thanh University is gradually cleaning the laboratories, getting all things ready to welcome students back to school in a “new normal state”.

The constant state of readiness

During the prolonged pandemic, Faculty of Pharmacy has cleaned and disinfected its laboratories periodically, ensuring laboratory safety while also preparing the necessities to meet requirements on epidemic prevention for students’ safe return to campus. The Faculty’s lecturers have been visiting the Faculty’s laboratories on a regular basis to prepare chemicals for the development of e-learning materials, providing students with a rich source of reference materials during the period of distant learning, thereby enabling them to gain required knowledge for upcoming face-to-face classes.

Besides, lecturers and students’ research activities have resumed since the beginning of October 2021. The number and quality of students’ projects have met the University’s requirements as well as fulfilled the pandemic prevention and control criteria issued by Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders.

Strong collaboration with the University

To welcome students back, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has prepared for the worst-case scenarios by establishing medical rooms with all necessary medical equipment and quarantine facilities in compliance with pandemic prevention requirements, and at the same time requested all faculties and departments to report on students’ vaccination status and support plans to help students get fully vaccinated. Recently, the University has also collaborated with the Department of Health to organize COVID-19 vaccinations for staff, lecturers and some students living in Ho Chi Minh City. Students living in other provinces and cities who have not been vaccinated are expected to be registered for vaccination by the University as soon as they return to school.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has enlisted a number of voluntary staff and students in operating infrared thermometers for temperature screening at the entrance and exit gates at all campuses, and drawing white lines to make sure students practice distancing when entering and exiting the school. In addition, the University also places hand sanitizers outside elevator doors on each floor and encourages students to strictly follow the “5K” regulation, avoid sharing personal items, dispose of litters properly, and promptly report any student, lecturer, or staff member who exhibits abnormal health symptoms to the University’s leaders for appropriate handling measures. In collaboration with the University, the Faculty of Pharmacy also requires students to make online medical declarations as a precaution to ensure their safety, and any suspected F0 will be temporarily isolated at school.
