Cooperation between Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Tra Vinh University on developing innovative start-ups activities

NTTU – For the purposes of improving the training quality and enhancing the cooperation relationship as well as developing innovative start-ups activities among universities, on February 18, 2022, the signing ceremony of cooperation to develop innovative start-up activities for the period 2022 – 2025 between Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) and Tra Vinh University (TVU) was taken place at Tra Vinh University.

Attending the ceremony, on the side of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Long Giang – Director of the Innovation and Incubation Center (NIIC) cum Head of Science – Technology Department; together lecturers and leaders of Faculty of Environmental and Food Engineering, NTT Institute of Hi-Technology, Institute of Agricultural Biology Research and Development, Institute of Technology Application and Sustainable Development, Institute of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.

On the side of Tra Vinh University, there were Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa – Party Committee Secretary cum Vice President; MSc. Nguyen Van Vu An – Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; together with leaders of Center for Scientific Research and Production – Service, Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries.

This ceremony marked the cooperation between two universities in order to improve the quality of innovative start-ups, build and develop the local startup ecosystem; joint-training based on demands; exchange and learn of experiences, build the network, incubate startups, collaborate in scientific research, implement international projects and research on innovative start-ups.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President of NTTU congratulated the success of the signing ceremony of cooperation between two universities. This collaboration aims to build the partnership to promote capabilities and strengths, effectively take advantage of and utilize potentials of facilities, human resources, and experts in entrepreneurship activities for students and startup community of both universities. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa – Party Committee Secretary cum Vice President of TVU expressed his interest in the cooperation of two universities. At the ceremony, two universities also shared experiences in organizing and operating the Startup Incubation and Innovation Center, startup training programs, Active Citizen courses, startup mentors, policies to develop scientific research, connect businesses and startup mentor networks; as well as proposed scientific researches with Faculties and Institutes for the upcoming time.

MSc. Huynh Hong Mai – Deputy Director of NIIC is spreading creative entrepreneurial inspiration to students

To kick off the collaboration between two universities, MSc. Huynh Hong Mai – Deputy Director of NIIC has spread creative entrepreneurial inspiration to 300 students of Tra Vinh University. She also introduced the contest on Student Entrepreneur Talent 2022 which shall be taken place on February 19 and 20, 2022.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University is one of the pioneering universities in innovative start-up activities, creating an innovative startup ecosystem in the university, promoting and supporting staff, lecturers and students to do scientific research and start-up innovation. As a member of the South National Startup Support Advisory Council and the National Innovation Advisory Council, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been spreading the entrepreneurship inspiration to many universities and support localities to build innovative start-up ecosystems.

In 2021, NTTU was honored to receive the noble title of a university with positive contribution for Startup Ecosystem 2021 awarded by the National Startup Program – Ministry of Education and Training – VCCI – National Innovation Startup Advisory Council. The Center for Innovation and Startup Incubation of NTTU also received the I-Star prize for Excellent Startup Support University in 2021 awarded by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
