The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) is a globally recognized benchmark for academic excellence. In its 2026 edition, The THE World University Rankings evaluated institutions across 148 programs within 11 broad subject areas: Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Law, Life Sciences, Clinical and Health, Physical Sciences, Psychology, and Social Sciences. The THE WUR methodology is based on five key performance indicators: Research Quality, International Outlook, Industry, Research Environment, and Teaching.
According to the newly released THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) is honored to be ranked in three academic fields.
In the Clinical and Health category, NTTU secured a position in the 501–600 bracket out of 1,230 universities globally. Among the seven Vietnamese representatives featured in this field, NTTU proudly ranks 2nd nationwide.

In the Life Sciences category, which features 1,211 ranked universities worldwide, Nguyen Tat Thanh University is placed in the 601–800 bracket globally. Furthermore, the university proudly holds the 2nd position in Vietnam for this field.

“Having three academic fields ranked by THE for the first time is clear evidence of the comprehensive innovation, methodical investment, and steadfast commitment to sustainable development that NTTU has pursued for many years,” he stated.
According to the President, these rankings demonstrate the university’s tireless efforts to enhance teaching quality and scientific-technological capabilities. “Being recognized in our debut year not only affirms our academic prestige but also serves as a powerful motivator to push for deeper global integration and world-class research excellence.”
Nguyen Tat Thanh University is no stranger to international accolades, having previously appeared in prestigious rankings such as THE WUR, THE Impact Rankings, QS Asia, Webometrics, URAP, and Scimago.
The university views these rankings as a vital tool for self-improvement. By adhering to rigorous international standards—which evaluate institutions based on Research Quality, Teaching, Research Environment, International Outlook, and Industry income—NTTU aims to cultivate a workforce that meets the demands of a modern, globalized society while fostering an environment of entrepreneurship and innovation.
