Satellite Campus of Nguyen Tat Thanh University established at Aomori Chuo Gakuin University, Japan

On April 10, 2023, representatives from the Board of Presidents of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) paid a visit to Aomori Tanaka Educational Academy and Aomori Chuo Gakuin University (Japan) for the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between the parties.

From NTTU, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President, Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong – Vice President, Mr. Le Quang Khanh – Manager, International Relations Department, and Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh – Deputy Head, Communications & Marketing Department attended the signing ceremony. From the host institutions participated Mr. Norihisa Ishida – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Aomori Tanaka Educational Academy, Dr. Kei Sato – President, Aomori Chuo Gakuin University, Prof. Keishin Fujimaki – Director, International Exchange Centre, Prof. Miki Maeda – Chairperson, Department of Food Dietetics, Prof. Tomoko Kiyosawa – Chairperson, Department of Infant Education; Dr. Nguyen Chi Nghia – Deputy Director, International Exchange Centre.

According to the MOU signed between NTTU and Aomori Tanaka Educational Academy, the parties agree on the establishment of an Aomori Chuo Gakuin University Ho Chi Minh City Desk located at Nguyen Tat Thanh University Campus at 300A Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ward 13, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam whilst a satellite campus of NTTU will also be set up at Aomori Chuo Gakuin University at 12 Kanda Yokouchi, Aomori City, Japan.

This MOU signing is to formalize the cooperations in promoting joint research and educational activities, especially to implement the areas of collaboration agreed on by both NTTU and Aomori Chuo Gakuin University (under Aomori Tanaka Educational Academy). In particular, NTTU students will have the opportunities to improve their foreign language competencies and knowledge on Japanese culture to enhance employability for domestic and overseas labour market through culture exchange and student mobility. Besides, NTTU students can enjoy the internship programs at the Elderly Care Services Home where NTTU students from health care areas can take care of the senior citizens and earn international certificates and/or double degrees awarded by Aomori Chuo Gakuin University. On the other hand, Japanese students from Aomori Chuo Gakuin University can also choose Nguyen Tat Thanh University as their destination to undertake student exchange program in Vietnam. In addition, the two universities also agree on fostering faculty members exchange and capacity building programs, training workshops on teaching methodologies, research results exchange and scientific publications.

The ceremony took place successfully with the expectation that the cooperative programs will benefit both sides. Dr. Tran Ai Cam – NTTU President expressed her appreciation for a warm hospitality from the senior leaders of Aomori Tanaka Educational Academy and Aomori Chuo Gakuin University. Furthermore, the President confirmed that the MOU will be of important milestone to further strengthen the strategic cooperation in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Nursing, and Business Administration, etc.

NTTU believes that this mutual cooperative relationship will be developed and sustained in the future with long-term goals to expand the bilateral partnership opening up opportunities for NTTU students and lecturers to discover Japanese culture, people, advanced education system, as well as  future employment in Japan.
