NTTU organizes Open Innovation Day 2024 in response to Vietnam Innovation Day
NTTU – Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has announced that October 1st each year will be designated as Vietnam Innovation Day to honor, encourage, and promote innovation. This day is meant to be a joyful and happy occasion for innovators. This announcement is seen as good news for organizations working to develop the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam, including Nguyễn Tất Thành University.
As one of the pioneering educational institutions in establishing an innovative enterpreneurial university model, Nguyễn Tất Thành University proudly promotes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among its faculty, staff, students, and trainees. The university not only encourages this spirit but also provides both material and moral support to create the best development environment for potential projects, thereby discovering highly applicable solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of society.

Dr. Trần Ái Cầm – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, shared: “In October, besides celebrating Vietnam Women’s Day on October 20, being the one who consistently strives to promote and encourage innovative startup activities, I am even more pleased that the Prime Minister has announced October 1st each year as Vietnam Innovation Day.”

“In recent years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been well-positioned to choose the direction of developing into an innovative enterpreneurial university. Therefore, the Prime Minister’s decision to designate October 1st as Vietnam Innovation Day, along with recent policies of encouragement and support from Ho Chi Minh City authorities, will serve as motivation for our university as well as universities across the country to adapt and better meet practical needs,” Dr. Ai Cam added.
Jointly celebrating the National Innovation Day, Nguyen Tat Thanh University announced that at the end of October 2024, it will collaborate with the Open Innovation Technopreneur Institute (OITI) and the Open Innovation Hub (SoiHub) to organize the “Open Innovation Day 2024” (OID 2024). This program aims to promote innovation, enhance the spirit of collaboration, and encourage practical initiatives and solutions from stakeholders within the domestic and international ecosystems, with the goal of building and developing a sustainable and regenerative economic value chain in Vietnam.
The program will take place over two days, October 25 and 26, 2024, featuring many “hot” topics that are currently of great interest to society, such as: sustainable production utilizing renewable energy and recycling; the future of Vietnam in the new technology era: semiconductors and artificial intelligence; sustainable development of agricultural supply chains in the context of climate change in the Mekong Delta; and building a 3S transportation system (Smart – Sustainable – Safe) in green transport connectivity – from high-speed rail to electric vehicle infrastructure.
In addition to important presentations, the program will also create a space for networking and discussions (Pavilion Networking) focused on strategies to promote a circular economy, as well as opportunities to connect with talent exchange programs and interact with industry leaders regarding recruitment opportunities and the development of the next generation of innovators. Following this, there will be a SoiMatch (Solution Matching) space for trade promotion, connecting innovative solutions between groups with challenges and those with solutions, featuring four sessions: Open Social Innovation; Green Industrial AI Challenge with two sessions at technology readiness levels above and below 4; and the launch of the SoiHub R&D Review program.
The program is expected to be a highlight in October, contributing to the celebration of Vietnam Innovation Day, working together to develop a stronger innovation ecosystem and to build a wealthier and more prosperous Vietnam.
