NTTU “Green Summer Soldiers” organize martial art classes for self-defense to children in Go Vap district for a meaningful summer break
NTTU – In order to bring a joyful summer break to children, the Green Summer Volunteering Campaign Steering Committee of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) coordinated with the Youth Union of Ward 16, Go Vap District to successfully organized martial art classes for self-defense for local children. The classes were led by members of the NTTU Karate Club and supported by NTTU Green Summer volunteers.
The classes were held regularly every Saturday from June 15, 2024, to July 13, 2024 at Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Ward 16, Go Vap District, attracting more than 50 children in the area.
Lessons were designed to help children develop quick responses and recognize dangers from strangers and guide them how to handle emergency situations and protect themselves when in danger and practice their self-defense skills. In addition, the classes have brought not only lessons in defense skills but also opportunities for children to practice confidence, patience and endurance. Participating in these activities, children have had the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches who have spent a lot of time and passion to share their knowledge and skills with them.
The classes were not only a place for children to learn martial arts but also a foundation for building solidarity and self-confidence. In particular, attracting attention from parents is also a remarkable thing, demonstrating the University’s strong support for educational activities in the community. The classes also help children equip themselves with self-protection skills and inspire passion and desire to learn.
This meaningful program aims to enable children to improve their health, solidarity, and equip themselves with self-defense skills in any possible situations and, more importantly, learn how to protect themselves.
Let’s have a look at some moments in class with NTTU!
