NTTU emphasizes the role of all its members in developing a University of Happiness

NTTU – On March 24, 2025, Nguyen Tat Thanh University successfully organized “Building a University of Happiness from Professional Work Ethic” workshop. This practical activity aimed to help staff, lecturers, and workers better understand their roles and responsibilities in building and developing the university according to the “Happy University” model, towards a professional, friendly, and effective working and learning environment.

The program was attended by Dr. Tran Ai Cam – the President; along with a large number of faculty members, staff, and leaders from various departments, faculties, institutes, and centers across the university.

In particular, the program also featured the speaker Dr. To Nhi A – one of Vietnam’s leading psychologists, who has made significant contributions to raising awareness about mental health, helping students, parents, and businesses develop life skills and work effectively.

Addressing the opening remarks, Dr. Tran Ai Cam emphasized Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s commitment to building a sustainable educational environment, with human values and happiness at its core. In particular, Dr. Cam highlighted the important role of each member in creating a professional and happy learning and working environment, with a positive attitude and effective communication and emotional management skills. The goal is to build a high-quality workforce that meets the University’s development strategy for the period 2020–2025 and the vision for 2035, aiming for the “Happy University” model, where all activities are linked to professionalism, effectiveness, and happiness.

Dr. To Nhi A, psychologist shared the importance of building a happy learning and working environment, emphasizing the relationships between members of the university. She particularly focused on emotional management skills, stating that the ability to control emotions helps individuals maintain a positive attitude, build good relationships, and improve work efficiency.

The psychologist also affirmed that with skills in emotional management and effective communication, each individual contributes to the overall development of the university, creating a learning and working environment that is not only professional but also filled with love and happiness.

As part of the program, Mr. Truong Quang Tri – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department, introduced staff, lecturers, and academic advisors from the faculties/institutes to information related to the Academic Advisor software, including how to access the software, admin rights, usage methods, and how to look up and track student academic information such as study progress, attendance grades, course registration, academic warnings, etc. This tool is considered a useful resource for Nguyen Tat Thanh University to promote and improve the effectiveness of student care, serving as evidence of the university’s digital transformation in management. It also provides maximum support for both staff and students, aiming towards a sustainable development model for the university.

This software serves as a convenient and detailed platform for evaluating and storing information related to the relationship between academic advisors and students, Mr. Tri shared. It includes a complete list of students in each class under management, detailed information about each student – including their parents – making it easier for academic advisors to manage the academic progress of their assigned students. This also helps strengthen the role and responsibility of both the faculty and the university in supporting students, enhancing the quality of academic counselling, and providing comprehensive care for students.

For many years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has continuously worked to improve the quality of building a happy environment, aiming to ensure transparency, fairness, and create a positive learning space for students.

In addition to organizing academic activities, the University also collaborates with various units to host major events, providing opportunities for students to network and develop, while also contributing to enhancing the reputation and affirming the quality of education of Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Active participation in these programs and activities not only reflects the university’s responsibility in building a happy educational environment but also helps enhance human values, aiming towards a professional, friendly, and effective learning community.
