NTTU continues its mission of community service
Aiming to contribute to society through education, training, research, and the sharing of knowledge, over the past 26 years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has continuously spread its mission of serving the community, living up to its reputation as the only university named after Uncle Ho in his youth – Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU).
Bringing knowledge to the community
In recent years, alongside the entire education sector of the country, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) has joined the national movement to build a learning society and promote lifelong learning. Every year, the university accompanies thousands of candidates by supporting them in gathering information before taking the high school graduation exam through admissions counseling activities. Additionally, the university regularly organizes Open Days, providing students with the opportunity to explore the university learning environment and helping them find the right academic path based on their interests and personal abilities.

In terms of education, beyond teaching specialized knowledge, NTTU students are also able to apply their learning to solve real-world problems through scientific research and entrepreneurial projects. Many projects by the university’s faculty, staff, and students have addressed practical societal issues, providing innovative and effective solutions, particularly in the area of sustainable agricultural development in various provinces such as Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Ben Tre, Ninh Thuan, and many others.

At the same time, NTTU also provides opportunities for external readers to access and use the university library for free at the Information and Library Center, with a wide range of resources such as spaces, printed materials, electronic documents, and open educational resources. In 2024 alone, the university’s library served over 6,700 external readers, including more than 6,600 readers from high schools and over 100 readers from educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City.
Not only is it a cradle that nurtures knowledge, empowers, and realizes the dreams of more than 30,000 students, learners, and researchers, but it also makes significant contributions to educational promotion activities, helping to build the Vietnamese education system. In recent years, NTTU has always been an active partner in meaningful and practical projects of the Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund, the Tiếp sức đến trường Scholarship Fund, the Nguyễn Thái Bình Scholarship Fund, and has awarded hundreds of full scholarships to students from neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia. Through these scholarships, the university aims to support students in difficult circumstances to continue their journey of conquering knowledge.
Contributing to the social welfare work
Along with its efforts in training the elite class, NTTU also demonstrates its social responsibility to the community. The Party organizations, Youth Union, and Student Association always stay closely connected with local communities, taking the lead and proactively planning and coordinating practical volunteer activities.
Over the past 26 years, NTTU has contributed to society through many meaningful projects and tasks, including activities to honor and support those who have served the revolution, such as war veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with political merit, and children in difficult circumstances. In addition, the university has also provided numerous scholarships, gifts, furniture, and built community learning spaces.
Each year, NTTU donates tens of billions of VND with the aim of providing the flame of knowledge to children in difficult circumstances.
On the other hand, the youth of Nguyen Tat Thanh University also apply the knowledge and skills they have learned to contribute to the community through meaningful activities such as: providing medical check-ups for families with political merit by the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Nursing; distributing free medicine to people in difficult circumstances by the Faculty of Pharmacy; collaborating with hospitals to organize Mid-Autumn Festival events for children in hospitals; and holding mock trials to promote legal awareness, among other activities.

These efforts not only demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and sharing but also contribute to building the image of Nguyen Tat Thanh University as a pioneer in connecting knowledge with social responsibility, working alongside the community for development. The university’s greatest goal is to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are both virtuous and skilled, with noble ideals, a strong sense of protecting national sovereignty, and a deep love for their homeland and nation.
