Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s Training Fields Make Breakthroughs on the International Academic Stage

NTTU – Recently, the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) announced the 2025 World University Rankings by Academic Field, in which Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) has 7 academic fields ranked.

In 2025, URAP ranked universities worldwide across 78 academic fields, based on six indicators: Articles (21%), Citations (10%), Total Documents (21%), Article Impact Total (18%), Citation Impact Total (15%), and International Collaboration (15%).

This year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University continues to make its mark by appearing in multiple fields and achieving a significant improvement in rankings compared to last year.

In the field of Environmental Engineering, URAP ranked 750 universities globally, with only 3 institutions from Vietnam making the list—a decrease of two compared to 2024. Nguyen Tat Thanh University excelled, ranking 3rd in Vietnam and 422nd in the world, climbing 60 places from 2024.

In the field of Medical and Health Sciences, this year’s URAP ranking lists 2,000 institutions worldwide. Vietnam has 5 representatives, with Nguyen Tat Thanh University maintaining its 3rd position nationally while advancing to the 1,000+ group globally, an improvement from the 1,100+ range last year.

In the field of Technology, among 1,500 institutions evaluated, Vietnam has 5 universities listed in the ranking. Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranks 4th nationally and 967th globally, marking a significant improvement from its 1,000+ position in 2024.

In the field of Environmental Sciences, Nguyen Tat Thanh University continues to make its mark by ranking among the top three universities in Vietnam and placing 598th globally out of 1,000 institutions—up 47 places compared to last year.

In the field of Engineering, this year’s global ranking features 1,499 universities. In Vietnam, 9 institutions are listed, with Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranking 6th nationally and 985th globally.

Notably, in the field of Chemical Sciences, Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranked 3rd in Vietnam and 932nd globally out of 1,500 institutions, marking a significant improvement from its 1,000+ position in 2024.

This year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University was, for the first time, ranked in the field of Chemical Engineering. Among 1,000 universities worldwide evaluated, Vietnam has 3 institutions listed. NTTU ranks 3rd nationally and 789th globally, marking an important milestone in the university’s strategic direction toward advanced research development.

Sharing this achievement, Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University – affirmed that the university’s consistent presence across multiple ranked fields and its continuous improvement in international rankings such as URAP is the result of comprehensive reforms, strategic investment, and a sustainable development roadmap that the institution has steadfastly pursued over the years. In particular, being recognized for the first time in Chemical Engineering reflects the university’s correct orientation toward expanding interdisciplinary research and enhancing the scientific and technological capacity of its faculty. This serves as strong motivation for NTTU to further improve training quality and integrate more deeply into the global higher education landscape.

Earlier, in March 2025, URAP also announced its 2025 World University Rankings for 3,000 institutions. In Vietnam, 22 universities were ranked—one fewer than in 2024. Nguyen Tat Thanh University ranked 1,014th globally and 4th nationally.

The URAP World University Rankings by Academic Performance Announced in March 2025

URAP’s university rankings are based on six indicators, with NTTU’s Citation score reaching 68.11 points—the highest among all ranked indicators—followed by Article Impact Total at 56.78 points and Citation Impact Total at 48.14 points. The remaining indicators recorded scores ranging from 21.28 to 37.88 points.

Over the years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has consistently been recognized in various prestigious rankings such as QS Asia University Rankings, THE Impact Rankings, Webometrics, and SCImago Institutions Rankings. The university fully understands that innovation is essential to meet the demands of society and mass education. In recent years, NTTU has undertaken fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training, particularly in the new era.
