Nguyen Tat Thanh University signs an MOU with Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in high-quality human resources training

On October 16, 2020, at the Vietnam-UK Education Cooperation and Investment Promotion Forum, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in training high quality human resources.

The Vietnam-UK Education Cooperation and Investment Promotion Forum was organized to introduce policies on cooperation and investment in higher education, connecting and promoting cooperation between Vietnamese and foreign partners in the field of education. In addition, the forum creates an opportunity to encourage and attract domestic and foreign investors, educational institutions to participate in promoting Vietnam’s global cooperation and integration activities in education. The event attracted the participation of more than 200 guests, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, representatives from international organizations, embassies in Vietnam, foreign-invested institutions and enterprises in the education sector.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the UK Ambassador and representatives of the other government departments. In the MOU, NTTU and ICAEW committed to periodically hold seminars on finance and management for the team of lecturers and students. In addition, the two institutions will build and implement research projects to improve the quality of academic staff, creating more opportunities to approach the world’s advanced education systems. In particular, Nguyen Tat Thanh University students will have the opportunity to participate in seminars and field trips at multinational companies joining the network of partners in Vietnam. These programs will be organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).

In addition, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) ensure to organize academic competitions for students; provide scholarships supporting start-ups and talented students; offer free training courses to enhance expertise and practical experiences for talented students majoring in Finance and Accounting. Meanwhile, ICAEW will consider integrating some subjects in the ICAEW CFAB program into the curriculums of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

The signing enables NTTU to open up a new opportunity for international cooperation, especially in enhancing and providing knowledge and technology for faculty members; improving expertise, practical experience and professional skills for students, contributing to building high-quality human resources of the University.

With this MOU, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has affirmed its quality of human resource training for its consecutive strategic partnering with many organizations, enterprises, universities and institutes from developed countries with advanced education systems. Thanks to this, NTTU has improved the quality of training, assuring its position on domestic and worldwide higher education sector as being the only representative of Vietnam rated as a 4-star university by QS (UK) in 2019. Besides, NTTU is also recognized as 4-star institution by the University Performance Metrics (UPM), being the first private university to obtain this achievement.
