Nguyen Tat Thanh University organizes the Scientific Conference on “The role of the semiconductor industry in the development of digital economy and digital society”
On May 20, 2022, at the main campus (300A Nguyen Tat Thanh Str., Ward 13, District 4), Nguyen Tat Thanh University in collaboration with relevant organizations in science and technology held the Scientific Conference on “The role of the semiconductor industry in the development of digital economy and digital society”. On the afternoon of the same day, the Seminar “Certificate in integrated circuit design in 2022” at An Phu Dong campus (District 12).
Attending the conference, on the side of guest experts, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu – Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong – Director of Environmental Industry Institute; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Hoa – Member of the expert group on the strategy of digital economy and digital society development”; Ms. Cong Tang Ton Nu Thuy Trang – General Director of ITO VN, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Industry Association; Mr. Dinh Hoang Phuoc – Senior Manager of Integrated Circuit Design Engineering at Skywords Solutions; MSc. Nguyen Long Giang – Technical Director of Hanatec Vietnam Co., Ltd. Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Dr. Tran Thien Luu – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Long Giang – Head of Science and Technology Department, Dr. Nguyen Kim Quoc – Dean, Faculty of Information Technology. On the side of the Organizing Committee, there were Nguyen Anh Tuan, MSc. – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Technology Association; Mr. Doan Kim Thanh – Member of Youth Union Standing Committee, Director of Center for Youth Science and Technology Development; together with experts, scientists, journalists, and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
The conference aims to create an environment for young Vietnamese scientists to share on semiconductor technologies and update the application of these technologies in the digital economy and digital society development strategy by 2025, with a vision to 2030. Besides, the conference also promotes the cooperative interaction and collaboration among experts from universities, organizations, and members in the Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Association, thereby establishing a community of semiconductor technology researchers and improving their research capacity on these technologies in Vietnam.

Opening the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong shared that with the success of today’s conference and exhibition along with the signing of comprehensive cooperation agreement with Semiconductor Technology Association, we believe that in the near future, Nguyen Tat Thanh University will broaden its activities in capacity building, training cooperation, scientific research, and technology transfer.
Within the framework of the conference, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Technology Association signed the Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate and promote the exchange of academics and experiences to create opportunities for the development of the Ho Chi Minh City’s semiconductor industry and towards integrating with the world’s semiconductor industry.

Closing the conference, Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Technology Association awarded certificates of merit with flowers to speakers presented at the conference.
The scientific conference on “The role of the semiconductor industry in the development of the digital economy and digital society” ended successfully. Hopefully, this shall be a precious opportunity for Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Ho Chi Minh City Semiconductor Technology Association to enhance their cooperation and development in the future.
