Nguyen Tat Thanh University held a knowledge exchange workshop with Birmingham City University, England

NTTU – On May 17th morning, Birmingham City University (BCU) together with the representative of Head of the British Council and Ho Chi Minh City of Pedagogy University had visited Nguyen Tat Thanh University and participated in the knowledge exchange workshop about educational training. This is the second project that will be widely deployed in 2017, following the success of the project “Supporting students to improve their employment rate through student-oriented teaching method” in 2016. This project receives support from British Council, with the participation of BCU, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Education University – Ha Noi National University and HCMC of Pedagogy University.

The overview of the workshop

The 2017 project is called “Digitizing and re-contexting student-oriented teaching methods in order to improve the outcome standard under the career orientation in the development of Vietnam”. Discussions about testing, establishing reflective thinking for healthcare major’s students who are doing internships at offices. Because of that, teaching staffs and students will apply the software to their smart phones to collect data and easily exchange them during their learning process. This project attracts many leaders of universities, researchers, national and international educational organizations and help them focus on career/job education with a complete new method, which facilitates the knowledge exchange and acquirement of students during their learning and even after graduation.

The representative of Birmingham City University

The representative of Birmingham City University said: “This application had been applied in Birmingham City University and it had received considerable success. Students had become more active and gained more necessary skills. This method helped students practice logical and high-critical thinking, from which students would be confident during their knowledge acquirement. After duration of applying this method, the studying result of students had been improved.”

According to the framework of this project, after the workshop at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the mission will continue to work with HCMC of Pedagogy University, Educational University – HN National University on May 18th. The result of this project will be presented in the Conference “Methods for university education” on Nov 8th and 9th 2017. Universities and educational organizations from England and Asian countries will join this conference.
