At 9 am, May 6th 2017 on Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s main campus (300A Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Ward 13, District 4, Ho Chi Minh city), Ministry of Education and Training announced and awarded the certificate of education quality at educational institution level to Nguyen Tat Thanh University. The ceremony was joined by Prof. Dr. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Van Trinh, Director of Department of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance; Mr. Tran Van Nghia, Deputy Director of Department of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance; Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Nhu Chinh, Director of Department of Emulation and Commendation, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Tong Ngoc Trung, Deputy Director of The South Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice President of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Deputy Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training Ho Chi Minh City…..as well as many other officials and representatives in the education field.

The certificate of education quality standard is an achievement to Nguyen Tat Thanh University after an enduring effort to improve the academic quality. Earlier, the school carried out self-assessment at Academic Program level and Educational Institution (or School) level in accordance with the Quality Standards Set from the Ministry of Education and Training. Nguyen Tat Thanh University also adopted the Quality Accreditation Standards Sets (including School level and Academic Program level, both from the Ministry of Education and Training and AUN-QA) as a basis for “self-regulation” of the activities within school limit and satisfying the “standards” for every areas pertaining to universities in the future: teaching, research, community service, faculty members, facilities,….in order to successfully implement an internal quality assurance system.
In October 2016, with all of these changes and preparations, Nguyen Tat Thanh University applied to the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City for official external accreditation at educational institution level. The school strictly followed the closely scrutinized process of assessment by the Center as well as completing the external assessment under the Universities’ Education Quality Assessment Standards Set (the preliminary assessment period took place between the 16th and 17th of November 2016, while the official period occurred from the 20th to the 24th of December 2016). On the 30th of March 2017, the Council for Education Quality Assurance, Vietnam National University HMC finalized and announced the Resolution No. 06/NQ-HĐKĐCLGD on the evaluation of the education quality assessment result, according to which Nguyen Tat Thanh University was recognized to satisfy the quality standard at educational institution level.

A companion of Nguyen Tat Thanh University throughout the duration of quality accreditation, Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Vice President of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman of the Association of Vietnam’s Universities and Colleges, said: “I appreciate the works and achievements of (your) university. Although still a fledgling non-public university, (NTTU) from the early age has decided to pursue academic quality by strongly investing in academic programs, faculty members, and facilities together with utilizing the Quality Standards Set for self-assessment and seeking external evaluation from domestic & international organizations. This is a right direction for Nguyen Tat Thanh University that will not only help standardize the school’s activities but also undermine the differences between public and private universities in Vietnam’s system, contributing to the global integration.”
