NTTU – In 2020, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) plans to open 2 new majors in the field of Information Technology which are Computer Network Technology and Data Communication, Software Technology to supply human resources for labour market experiencing tremendous shortage.

According to the statistics of Ministry of Information and Communications, labour demand in the field of IT is approximately 250,000 employees. Based on planning direction of human resources toward 2025, Vietnam will need more than 500,000 workers in this field. Meanwhile, the market only supplies about 40,000 graduates annually specializing in these majors. Due to this situation, training in specific IT disciplines becomes critical.

To provide high-quality human resources to the market, in 2020, NTTU plans to open 2 new majors in the field of Information Technology which are Computer Network Technology and Data Communication, Software Engineering.

In 2020, NTTU will receive applications for 2 full-time undergraduate majors including Computer Network Technology and Data Communication, Software Engineering based on 5 Admission Methods:

Method 1: Review of the national high school graduation score 2020 based on a combination of assessed subjects

Method 2: Review of the high school transcript achieving one of the following criteria (for majors in healthcare discipline, the threshold of input in quality assurance issued by Ministry of Education and Training will be applied):

• The combined score of the required Grade 12 admission subjects must be from 18 or higher.
• The sum of GPA of Grade 10, Grade 11 and GPA of first semester in Grade 12 must be from 18 or higher.
• GPA of Grade 12 must be from 6.0 or higher

Method 3: review of the Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s institutional entrance test

Method 4: review of HCMC Vietnam National University competence assessment

Method 5: Direct admission assessment with admission priority for candidates won national excellent student competition, national science and technology contest, Asian and international skills competition; entrance assessment for foreign candidates who are eligible to study or nominated.

Note: In case of fine arts disciplines, assessment of candidates combines high school academic results and registration of aptitude test organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University, or submission of result of aptitude test issued by other universities organizing this test for admission.
