MENTOR CONNECTION WORKSHOP FOR THE 2021 STUDENT START-UP PROJECTS
On August 27, 2021, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) cooperated with Ho Chi Minh City’s Student Culture House and the Southern Startup Support Advisory Council to organize a Mentor Connection Workshop for the 2021 Student Startup Projects. The aims of the workshop are to equip themselves with knowledge and foundational skills about Mentoring; to help students find their Mentors who can assist the project, as well as to provide an opportunity to exchange Mentor experiences of start-up companies to learn, connect, develop networks. This can especially help the teams successfully complete their projects in the final round. The ‘2021 Student Startup Projects’ attracted the participation of 50 projects of students from 14 universities and colleges across the country. Up to now, TOP 30 projects have completed the competition in the Semi-Final.
Especially at the Mentor Connection Workshop for the 2021 Student Start-up Projects took place right before the Final Round. The workshop received the attention of the University’s Board of Presidents and 140 participants, including 30 Faculty Deans, Institute Directors and related departments. The workshop welcomed 30 entrepreneurs from the Southern National Startup Advisory Council, NTTU Business Club, IPO Entrepreneur Club – Sihub as Mentors for participating projects and more than 80 students from different universities and colleges.
At the conference Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Acting President of the University gave a very important speech, expressing NTTU’s development directions toward innovation, NTTU’s interests for creative start-ups. The workshop provided useful knowledge and practical experience on Mentoring by IPP Experts – MSc. Truong Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Startup Advisory Council and talks from the participants. The workshop was highly appreciated and supported by the delegates, enterprises and students. At the end of the workshop, 15 groups of Mentor – Mentee successfully connected to prepare for the first 3 months of Mentoring process, from September to November 2021.
It can be seen that the workshop took place with tremendous success via the online platform, providing in-depth and useful knowledge that the lecturers brought to the workshop. The organizers hoped that the teams would accumulate a lot of useful knowledge to be able to complete their project and continue on their entrepreneurial path. Besides, the organizers would like to thank the trainers, mentors, entrepreneurs who, despite the complicated epidemic situation, still spend their precious time to share and deliver their experiences and knowledge and practical, valuable and useful knowledge for participants in terms of setting project goals /market approach/ call for investment.
