Institute of Applied Technology and Sustainable Development promotes the technology transfer and community services
NTTU – On October 27, 2022, at the Hall of the People’s Committee of Huu Dinh Commune, Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province, Nguyen Tat Thanh University collaborated with the Department of Science and Technology of Ben Tre Province, branch of Green Powers Co., Ltd., People’s Committee of Huu Dinh commune – Chau Thanh District co-organized a scientific conference with the theme “Research on technological processes and build production models of products from green-skinned pomelo fruit in Ben Tre province.”
The workshop aimed to enhance the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, People’s Committees of Districts of Ben Tre Province, pomelo production cooperatives and housing management units, lecturers, researchers, businesses on scientific research, deploying research and technology development projects derived from natural resources, fruit products in Ben Tre province.

Scientific conferences provide a lot of useful information such as:
– Research on the production process of pomelo jam products
– Research on the development and production process of crispy dried grapefruit peel and grapefruit peel tea
– Research on the production process of fermented grapefruit juice products
– Applying scientific and technological advances to build a model of distilling essential oils from pomelo waste to increase the added value of pomelo in Ben Tre.
– Building a technology model for producing organic substrates from pomelo peel residues after distillation of essential oils for growing high-quality vegetables and flowers
– Market development orientation for local specialty products
The improvement of technologies to produce value-added products from the use of local raw materials in Ben Tre province, such as green-skinned pomelo, is fully implemented in order to develop a suitable technology problem, need to apply as well as the output problems for green skin pomelo trees to help the areas affected by climate change successfully transform the structure of agriculture and rural areas. The research results carried out will be highly effective because they play an important role in capacity building, creating more jobs and income for businesses and people in the project implementation area; successful transformation of agricultural and rural structure. This is also a prerequisite stage to create an opportunity for the professional green-skinned pomelo cultivation area, improve product quality and promote economic efficiency for farmers in Ben Tre province and neighboring provinces. The success of the project creates products with social factors by contributing to adding value to green-skinned pomelo trees, reducing the risk of environmental pollution, contributing to poverty alleviation and promoting agricultural production. Clean vegetables and fruits grow in Ben Tre province.
