Explosive Night at Flashmob 2023 Final

NTTU – On the evening of January 4th, at the main campus in District 4, the top 13 teams officially competed at the Final Night of the Folk Dance Competition – Flashmob 2023.

The Folk Dance Competition – Flashmob 2023 is an event organized to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (June 5th, 1999 – June 5th, 2024). Resuming after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Flashmob 2023 attracted the participation of numerous students with diverse performances.

Competition judges

This year, the competition was held from November 2023 with two rounds: the preliminary round with the theme “My class is the best” and the final round of awarding prizes with the theme “I’m cool and my class is the best”. Participating teams presented a folk dance or flashmob, with each performance lasting between 3 and 5 minutes.

The Final Night saw the participation of 13 teams from various faculties: Law, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Information Technology, and Foreign Languages.

The first prize of the Folk Dance Competition – Flashmob 2023 belonged to team Green Frog (Faculty of Pharmacy) with 3.5 million VND in cash along with a Certificate of Merit from the University’s Board of Presidents. Team Flying Stork Cosmo from the Faculty of Medicine excellently secured the second place with an award of 3 million VND and a Certificate of Merit. The third position was shared between the teams Lab Dance from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Technology and the team from Faculty of Law, with each team receiving an award of 2 million VND and a Certificate of Merit from the University’s Board of Presidents.

Additionally, Consolation Awards were given to 8 outstanding teams that made it to the final round. Furthermore, the organizers awarded the “Favorite Team” prize to team Flying Stork Cosmo from the Faculty of Medicine and the “Most Impressive Costume” prize to team XN Dance from the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Technology.

In addition to the competition prizes, the organizers also awarded the “Favorite Team” and “Most Impressive Costume” prizes.

Commending the participating performances, choreographer Poppy Nhat Liem said that this year’s competition was adorned with a variety of both modern and traditional materials, along with myths, school stories, teenage love, etc. All of these elements contributed to the enthusiasm, dynamism, and explosion of the final stage.

Sharing the above perspective, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Secretary of NTTU HCYU cum Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department and a member of the judging panel, noted that all the performances showed investment in practice and costumes. In particular, she highly praised the pioneering spirit of HCYU and VNUS cadres who directly participated in the performances.

The year 2024 marks the maturity of the university named after Uncle Ho with a quarter of a century of establishment and development. On this occasion, the Youth Union and the Union of Students have launched a competition for all members and students to achieve achievements in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (June 5th, 1999 – June 5th, 2024). The activities include building the column about President Ho Chi Minh on websites of the Youth Union and the Union of Students, organizing exchanges and dialogues with progressive youth following Uncle Ho’s teachings in 2023 with those who have contributed in the 25-year journey of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, holding a meeting of former Youth Union officials from different periods, establishing a Ho Chi Minh cultural space in front of the office of HCYU and VNUS, organizing the “Gen Z with digital transformation” week, and implementing 20 projects to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (June 5th, 1999 – June 5th, 2024).
