Evaluating the implementation of the healthcare human resource development plan at Nguyen Tat Thanh University
NTTU – According to Decision No. 816/QĐ-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health on “the human resource development plan in the health sector for the period of 2012 to 2020”, recently, the Health Strategy and Policy Institute together with Administration of Science, Technology and Training, Department of Organization and Personnel – Ministry of Health visited Nguyen Tat Thanh University to evaluate the results in training human resources in the health sector of the university.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Tran Duc Thuan, Vice Director of the Health Strategy and Policy Institute. On the side of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were Dr. Tran Ai Cam, the President; Dr. Tran Thien Luu, Vice President; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice President cum Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Kim Nhung, Dean of Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Tran Thi Chau, Dean of Nursing Faculty; MSc. Nguyen Thanh Nghia, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; together with lecturers and leaders of functional departments.

At the meeting, the representative of the Ministry of Health reviewed and evaluated the implementation of the training of medical human resources at the University for the period of 2012 to 2020; at the same time, exchange and discuss a number of contents on enhancing the quality of training in the health sector in the new period. Accordingly, the health human resource development needs to approach the training methods of advanced countries in the world; improve staff capacity, innovate teaching methods, especially clinical teaching methods with specific characteristics in health sector training. As one of the application-and-practice-oriented universities, always focusing on developing practical skills and expertise for students, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has gradually affirmed its prestige and position on the educational map of Vietnam and the world. For many years, the University has been providing a large of medical human resources who are professional, skillful and ethical; becoming a quality training destination recognized by the society, trusted by learners and highly appreciated by medical workplaces. To be able to gain these achievements, the university has constantly invested in time, resources and finance to ensure the infrastructure system, practice rooms, laboratories to be fully equipped with modern facilities; along with actively linking with domestic and foreign enterprises, pharmacies, and hospitals; invite experts and doctors at prestigious leading hospitals to participate in mentoring and teaching to help students better understand the actual situation at hospitals and community health care. This strategic cooperation shall certainly be the best “launching pad” for all students who are facing the challenges of integration with strict requirements from the labor market.
