Celebrating Uncle Ho’s Birthday reminds the call to “plant trees” – A great vision for a green future

President Ho Chi Minh with the pen name Tran Luc wrote the article “Tree-Planting Tet holiday ” published in Nhan Dan newspaper in 1959, No. 2082. He stated: “This is less expensive but benefits a lot … Our country will be more and more beautiful, the climate will be better and the trees grow more. That will make an important contribution to improving the lives of our people”. After more than 60 years, his call still intact the meaning of preserving and protecting the eco-friendly and sustainable environment, raising awareness of all people about the role and meaning of tree planting, afforestation and forests protection, protecting ecological environment, contributing to natural disaster mitigation, coping and adapting to the increasingly complex climate change.

Through the “Tree-planting Tet Holiday”, cultural beauty, ethical education, love of nature, awareness of ecological environment protection, and the harmony between people and nature of Vietnamese people have been formed. Currently, the approaches of management and technology of green development in Vietnam are constantly being invested in modern direction, suitable for urgent needs to improve climate conditions, purification and environmental protection. It creates a landscape and unique identity of the existing space.
