BioWraps Solution JSC: A Green Startup from NTTU Ecosystem Goes Global
NTTU – Amidst the global plastic pollution crisis, BioWraps Solution JSC—incubated at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU)—has emerged as a standout player in Vietnam’s innovation landscape with its breakthrough biodegradable packaging solutions.
Driven by a Mission to Solve Environmental Challenges
Vietnam generates over 3.9 million tons of plastic waste annually, yet nearly 70% is not processed through proper recycling channels. In response to this environmental pressure and the abundance of untapped agricultural by-products, the BioWraps project was born.

Originating from “Startup Q GREEN” in 2023, BioWraps was co-founded by Trịnh Công Qui (a Pharmacy alumnus) and Trần Thị Thanh Thuý (a Law student at NTTU). Supported by the NTTU Innovation and Incubation Center (NIIC), the project evolved from initial research on orange peel essential oil into a green technology enterprise, pioneering the field of advanced biomaterials.
BioWraps Technology: Transforming Agricultural Waste into Green Packaging
BioWraps utilizes cutting-edge material science to extract cellulose from orange peels and local agricultural waste, creating bioplastics with several competitive advantages:
- Fully Biodegradable: Products decompose 100% within 6–12 months, leaving no microplastics or toxic residues.
- Superior Performance: The material offers durability, flexibility, and heat resistance comparable to traditional petroleum-based plastics.
- Cost Optimization: Utilizing local raw materials reduces dependency on imports and significantly optimizes production costs.
Beyond biodegradable wraps, the company has developed BioResin pellets to supply OEM manufacturers across the F&B, retail, and organic agriculture sectors.

The year 2025 marked a period of explosive growth for BioWraps, with a prestigious portfolio of awards that affirms Vietnamese intelligence on the global startup map:
- Winner of the National Startup Project Development Program 2025 (VCCI).
- Winner of Startup Express International 2025 (Hong Kong).
- Excellence Initiative Award from the European Union (EU) at the Sustainable Design Award 2025.
- Top 10 in the Indo-Pacific Plastics Innovation Network 2025 (Australia) and the Asia Startup Competition 2025 (China).
- Top 20 Global Sustainable Urban Solutions (South Korea) and Top 30 Fly Asia Award (Busan).
- Top 250 in the Entrepreneurship World Cup 2025 (GEN Global – EWC).
To date, BioWraps has established partnerships with over 30 domestic and international organizations. With a presence in 11 countries across five continents, the company is currently seeking $1.6 million USD in investment to expand production facilities and accelerate R&D.
