A reminder of air conditioner runtime at District 12 campus, Nguyen Tat Thanh University
In recent years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) has invested significantly in campus facilities. With the desire to create a comfortable learning evironment for students, the University has installed air-conditioners for all classrooms.
NTTU facilities are invested in different levels, from laboratories, practical rooms to multi-functional buildings, etc. In particular, energy savings must be implemented to create a clean and comfortable environment for all lecturers and students. However, efficient energy use is prioritized, especially the use of air conditioners in classrooms.

Since August 2015, NTTU has issued regulations on the management and use of air conditioners in classrooms at An Phu Dong campus, District 12.
The regulation clearly states the time to turn on and off the air conditioners in order to implement energy-saving activities and reduce the greenhouse effect. Specifically, the time to use air conditioners (based on the specific weather in the South) was regulated in Article 4.
- From March to June, air conditioners are opened according to the following regulations:
– Morning from 8:00am to 11:15am
– Afternoon from 1pm to 4pm
- From July to November, air conditioners are open according to the following regulations:
– Morning from 9am to 11am
– Afternoon from 1pm to 4pm
- From December to February: depending on the actual temperature and weather, students should use the air conditioner reasonably because the weather is cool at this time.
Hence, electricity savings can be done by adjusting the air conditioner runtime considering the outside temperature.
The regulations has been implemented and maintained since August 17, 2015 at the District 12 campus throughout the years. Up to now, saving energy has become a regular routine of our students, lecturers and staff at all campuses.
