10 alkaline water ionizers officially put into service for staff, lecturers, and students

NTTU – On March 3rd, Nguyen Tat Thanh University inaugurated and officially brought the Alkaline Water Ionizers into service for staff, lecturers, and students. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the University Council, the Board of Presidents, and a large number of students.

Addressing at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Mai Lan – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council, emphasized that this is an effort by the Board of Directors, University Council, and Board of Presidents in caring for the health of staff, lecturers, employees, students, and learners. At the same time, the university also hopes to make a small contribution to protecting the environment and reducing plastic waste released into the environment.

Ten alkaline ion water filtration systems have been installed at the campuses of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, with 4 systems at the District 4 campus, 1 system at the District 7 campus, and 5 systems at the District 12 campus.

Staff, lecturers, and students can use recycled bottles to get water instead of plastic bottles to protect the environment

According to Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Thảo, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department and Secretary of the Student Union, these systems provide a high-quality drinking water source, operating based on the principle of electrolysis to split water molecules and produce electrolyzed water. Additionally, switching to using on-site filtered water helps save costs on bottled water, while minimizing plastic waste, contributing to the goal of building a green, clean, and sustainable campus.

Through this project, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), directly contributing to the realization of Goal no. 6 on Clean Water and Sanitation, ensuring that all members of the Nguyen Tat Thanh University community have access to clean and safe water, thereby improving the quality of life. At the same time, it demonstrates the university’s determination to promote sustainable consumption and production models, reduce plastic waste, in line with Goal no. 12. Furthermore, the clean and quality water helps students, staff, and workers improve their health, contributing to the achievement of Goal no. 3 on Good Health and Well-being, and fulfilling the mission of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

Through activities focused on improving the lives of staff, lecturers, students, and learners, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hopes to create a learning environment aimed at the comprehensive development of individuals. The goal is for students to become active citizens with the ability to innovate, create, and integrate, while also being highly competitive in both domestic and international labor markets.
