Nearly 1,400 participants in the Red Volunteer Day campaign, Phase 1 of the 2024–2025 academic year

NTTU – Nguyen Tat Thanh University, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross, Cho Ray Hospital, and 175 Military Hospital, successfully launched and organized the blood donation program for Red Volunteer Day, Phase 1 of the 2024–2025 academic year

The voluntary blood donation campaign at Nguyen Tat Thanh University took place over 5 days at the District 4 campus (on November 27th and 28th) and the District 12 campus (on December 11th, 13th, and 18th), with 1,400 participants, providing 1,100 blood units from faculty, staff, and students across the university.

This is a testament to the spirit of compassion, responsibility to the community, and the solidarity of all the faculty and students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. This amount of blood will be added to the blood banks of hospitals, helping to alleviate the difficulties and pressures faced by the healthcare sector, which is currently dealing with a nationwide shortage of blood supply.

At the event, teachers and students were guided by doctors, nurses, and volunteers on how to register, receive health consultations, undergo screening exams, and take tests before donating blood. Participants also received a Certificate of Voluntary Blood Donation along with cute gifts and travel allowances.

For many years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been known as one of the educational institutions leading in charitable activities for the community and social welfare. Especially in the field of voluntary blood donation, Nguyen Tat Thanh University collaborates with receiving units to organize this event twice a year, aiming to promote the spirit of mutual support and help those in need, in line with the positive living philosophy of young people in Vietnam in general and the students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University in particular.

Blood donation is not only meaningful activity but also encourages the donors to be mindful of maintaining their health and living a healthy lifestyle to meet the requirements for blood donation. According to doctors, regular blood donation helps the body eliminate excess iron and produce new blood, which is beneficial for health. The donated blood will be quickly replenished by the body to support the blood circulation process.

The donated drops of blood not only represent love, responsibility, and the spirit of solidarity, but they also symbolize the journey of nurturing life, bringing blood from one heart to another, in line with the message: ‘One drop of blood given, one life remains.
