Nguyen Tat Thanh University organizes the 3rd Conference on Education Quality
NTTU – On the morning of March 2, 2023, Nguyen Tat Thanh University successfully organized “the 3rd Conference on Education Quality: roles and impacts of quality assurance, quality accreditation and benchmarking in higher education quality assessment” to look back on the 5 years of consolidating and developing the internal quality assurance system, the achievements in education quality accreditation of the university as well as to listen to the opinions shared from related stakeholders and strategic orientation of the quality assurance for the period 2023-2025 with the university’s new vision and mission to become an innovative university. This is a periodic activity organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University every two years in order to spread the values of higher education quality assurance and quality accreditation at the University.

The 3rd Education Quality Conference in 2023 at Nguyen Tat Thanh University was honorably participated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong – Director of Quality Assurance Department of MOET; Dr. Nguyen Thai Son – Deputy Manager of Education Quality Accreditation Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM; Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung – Director of Thang Long Center for Education Accreditation; Dr. Tran Dinh Quang – Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, Vinh University; Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien – Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU – Hanoi; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc – former Vice President of Vietnam National University – Hanoi, Head of the Advisory Group of the National Committee for Educational Innovation and Training for the period 2016–2021, Founding Chairman of UPM; Prof. Dr. Banh Tien Long – Former Standing Deputy Minister of Education and Training, President of the Vietnam Association for Science Editing (VASE); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Tuan – Head of Testing and Quality Assurance Department, the University of Danang – University of Science and Technology; Dr. Nguyen Thi My Ngoc – Deputy Director of the Center for Testing and Quality Assessment, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, senior consultant for Quality Assurance at Fulbright University Vietnam.
From Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were the presence of Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan – Chairwoman of the University Board; Dr. Nguyen Van Luong –Vice Chairman of the University Board; Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy – Standing Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong –Vice President; Dr. Hoang Huu Dung – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Vice President; especially businesses, news agencies, domestic press, television stations, together with lecturers, leaders, representatives from departments, faculties, institutes and centers of the university.
In the opening address, Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan – Chairwoman of the University Board sent her sincere thanks to all participants. Embracing the viewpoint of which quality is a process, since the establishment, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has prioritized quality assurance, applying a variety of local and international quality standards in gorvenance, administration, training, scientific research, and community service. The effective implementation of quality assurance and education accreditation for the sustainable development path of the university has affirmed its position and reputation in Vietnam, in the region and towards international integration. Responding to the requirements of higher education in the new period, the university has set the key tasks of training human resources with innovative capabilities to meet the innovation requirements of higher education, the needs of the domestic and foreign labor market, the Industrial Revolution 4.0, reaching out to regional and international standards.

Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, gave a keynote speech on the quality of Nguyen Tat Thanh University from the perspective of ranking, benchmarking, and quality assurance, presenting the process of building an internal quality assurance system, accreditation results benchmarking, ranking, and problems to be discussed at the conference. “The year 2023 is the first year that Nguyen Tat Thanh University carries out these activities following the innovation-oriented vision. The 3rd Education Quality Conference focused on discussing challenges for the university in the new period, the idea of integrating innovation into quality assurance, measuring, and evaluating learning outcomes as well as solutions to improve the efficiency of quality assurance at faculties and functional departments”, Dr. Tran Ai Cam emphasized.

The third session was the rewarding ceremony on the certificates of education accreditation according to the Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT, including three Bachelor programs (Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Nursing, Vietnamese Studies) certified by the VNU-HCM Center for Education Accreditation; and three Master programs (Tourism, Finance and Banking, Business Administration) and one Bachelor program (Human Resource Management) certified by The Thang Long Centre for Education Accreditation.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has currently had 16 training programs accredited according to Circular 04 of the Ministry of Education and Training, 8 training programs accredited in accordance with AUN – QA standards, 4 programs star rated by UPM Rating System. Nguyen Tat Thanh University has been applying a variety of education accreditation standards including Circular 12/2017, Circular 04/2016 of the Ministry of Education and Training, AUN-QA, QS Stars rating, and UPM rating and ranking to measure overall quality in the direction of development and international integration. The university has succeeded in the institutional accreditation twice with the re-accreditation result of 97%, rated 4-star by QS Stars rating, and achieved 5 stars according to UPM rating and ranking. Those achievements prove a remarkable effort of the university during 24 years of establishment and development.
