The 3rd International Conference On Material, Machines, And Methods For Sustainable Development 2022 aimed to explore and provide an understanding about the important aspects of materials, machines and methods that contribute to sustainable development. Hence, a foundation toward a holistic approach to assist policy makers, related industries and researchers to identify local technological development towards sustainability in a global context is created, supporting the green technology-oriented decision-making processes.
At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – President of Nam Can Tho University shared that: “This is the third time that the international conference was organized after its first success in Da Nang (MMMS 2018) and the second in Nha Trang (MMMS 2020). The conference focuses on the reports of scientists and researchers regarding a number of topics on enhancing sustainable industrial development. This is also an opportunity for researchers, engineers and students to exchange ideas about academic research, expand joint research cooperation in the fields of mechanics, chemistry, physics, materials science and its applications in manufacturing and management towards sustainable development”.
Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – President of Nam Can Tho University
Representative of the Vietnam Association for Science Editing (VASE), Emeritus Professor. Dr. Banh Tien Long – Former Standing Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training, VASE President shared that: “Sustainable development is currently considered a global goal to improve human lives and protect the natural environment from negative impacts of pollution. The 2022 MMMS aims to explore and provide a picture about the important aspects of materials, machines and methods that contribute to sustainable development. Based on these insights, the conference offers a holistic approach that assists policymakers, industry stakeholders and researchers working at different organizations in positioning and identifying the necessary technology development toward the directions of sustainable development in the global context”.

The conference attracted 300 papers with nearly 400 Vietnamese and international guests attending in person and online from many different countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, India, Taiwan, Belgium, Russia, Thailand, etc. The papers and presentations at MMMS2022 focused on issues such as composite materials in construction used in harsh environmental conditions; mechanical applications of MAX phase-ceramics in manufacturing; building a quality management model of education in the Industry 4.0 era, smart robots for smart industrial production; producing microfluidic devices for biofuel cells. In addition, the papers submitted or presented at the conference will be published according to the standards of scientific publication.
The conference ended successfully, contributing to strengthening the collaborative relationship between NTTU and Vietnam Association for Science Editing (VASE). Meanwhile, it facilitates the cooperative initiatives between NTTU and other domestic, international partners in improving the quality of education and training, scientific research and international scientific publication.
Based on NTTU’s report, the Vietnam Association for Science Editing (VASE) officially announced the decision to organize the ” 2023 International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development (STISD 2023). STISD 2023 is expected to gather leading scientists, researchers and academics to exchange and share their research experiences and research findings regarding all aspects of management, economics, education, engineering and technology towards sustainable development in higher education. This is a developmental process embedded in a tight, logical and harmonious combination between the three pillars of development, including economic development (as well as quality of the growth), social development (including physical and mental health development through the provision of healthcare and education services to ensure social progress and justice; poverty alleviation and job opportunities) and environmental protection (climate change and biodiversity loss response acts through pollution treatment, and remediation, environmental restoration and improvement; prevention of forest fires and deforestation; rational use of natural resources).
Emeritus Professor. Dr. Banh Tien Long – President of VASE announced and appointed NTTU as the organizer of the International Conference 2023 – STISD 2023
Detailed information about the STISD 2023
Apart from the academic training, scientific research activities play a crucial role in Vietnamese universities, especially for lecturers and researchers at NTTU. This is considered as an indispensable “connector” which improves the quality of training, creates human resources for national development, and maintains an academic learning environment for students, providing the highly competitive human resources in the domestic and foreign labor market in the context of Industry 4.0, and international integration.
