6 researchers from NTT High-Tech Institute excellently win scholarships of VinIF
Nowadays, when science and technology have become a direct production force and a decisive factor influencing the competitiveness of each country and each enterprise, the innovation of education and training in combination with scientific researches would be a tendency and a positive measure of a dynamic and creative education. Therefore, for many years, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has always focused and promoted the development of scientific and technological activities in the direction of applied research to improve training quality; technology transfer and community services; innovation and startups; enhance the University’s reputation both at home and abroad. Accordingly, each year, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has invested tens of billions of Vietnam dong in scientific researches, especially invested in 3 projects: Center for High Technology Development, Center for High Technology Training and Millennium Park in Saigon Hi-Tech Park to help Ho Chi Minh City become a university ecosystem gathering experts in the field of research and commercialization of technology products according to education 4.0.
It could be said that lecturers and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University have contributed significantly to the development of scientific researches of the country. Up to now, there have been more than 1,500 scientific research projects at all levels, including 30 state-level projects, 32 ministerial-level projects, 24 departments-level projects, 4 international cooperation projects, more than 500 university-level research projects have been implemented, more than 1,500 articles published in the ISI / SCOPUS journals, more than 1,000 articles published in prestigious domestic scientific journals as well as international seminars and conferences, contributing to the national and local socio-economic development. Every year, the University’s students register and excellently have their names honoured at scientific research awards. At the Scientific Research Student Competition 2020, Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s students registered with 8 topics and won one second prize, one third prize and three consolation prizes. In addition, at the 2020 Euréka Scientific Research Student Award, Nguyen Tat Thanh University also had 3 topics to enter in the final round, in which two topics won the consolation prize.
Those remarkable achievements help Nguyen Tat Thanh University to be the only non-public university in Ho Chi Minh City ranked in the Top 20 universities on scientific research indexes according to the UPM Rankings in 2020 (University Performance Metrics).
And most recently, on November 23, 2020, 6 researchers from NTT Hi-Tech Institute have excellently entered the list of 293 graduate and post-graduate students who received scholarships from the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF), including 1 PhD scholarship (PhD student Nguyen Thi Thuong, majoring in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry), 5 master’s scholarships (Tran Thi Yen Nhi, majoring in Organic Chemistry; Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, majoring in Chemical Engineering; Pham Tri Nhut, majoring in Organic Chemistry; Tran Thien Hien, majoring in Chemical Engineering; Dao Tan Phat, majoring in Organic Chemistry). Those candidates have previously gained many impressive achievements including international scientific publications as well as won many national awards and scientific research awards.

Vingroup Innovation Fund – VinIF was established by Vingroup with the function of assisting organizations and individuals to conduct scientific research, technology and innovation, in order to create positive and sustainable changes for Vietnam. VinIF’s sponsorship programs include (1) science and technology projects, (2) domestic master’s and doctoral training scholarships, (3) master’s training co-operation, (4) conferences and seminars. For domestic master’s and doctoral scholarships, VinIF provides financial supports for outstanding graduate and PhD students who shall or are currently pursuing domestic graduate programs and scientists in science, technology, engineering or medicine and pharmacy. The scholarships include academic scholarships and international publication scholarships.
Hopefully, all those achievements in recent years will motivate both financially and spiritually lecturers and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University to have passion for science projects and firmly pursue their dreams in the laboratory, contributing to the scientific and technological development of the University and the country.
